Hands Free Cellphone Buzzing/Static

This just started to me today. Tried making a call using hands free and the audio was nothing but static. Turned off Android Auto and used Sync4. Just as bad. Radio audio was perfectly fine. Made the call using the speaker on my phone and it was clear. Tried restarting my phone and tried a few other people and it was horrible. Other end of the line said they heard the same thing.

I noticed a recent OTA update was installed. Didn't catch which one.

Anyone else have this happen? If so, what was the fix? I have a hard time it's not related to the recent OTA update

Just an update. My wife connected her phone to test out the truck and it worked fine. No issues with buzzing or static on the call. Clear as a bell.
I tested my cell phone in one of our other cars and it was fine as well.

Connected my cell phone back to the F150 and you couldn't hear anything through the buzzing and static during a call.

Yes this is maddening. 2022 Lightning Sync 4 with Android 11, Moto G power. BTW I have a literally shaky Navigation screen as well that dealer tech did not want to call Ford engineering on, so he declared it normal.

Call Ford Customer Service and open a complaint with them. They usually light a fire under that dealer's ass. If the dealer/tech whines about it, just tell them "you had your chance, but did nothing". The squeaky wheel gets the grease

Just to add to my symptoms, streaming audio via my phone is no problem, crystal clear. Phone calls? No bueno.

It looks like an update is going to be installed on the truck tonight. I'll see if it changes anything.

No resolution yet. Been trying different configurations, nothing seems to work. Been hoping some recent updates fix it, but nothing yet.

As of late I have just disconnected my phone from the truck and used the speaker phone setting until I can devote some more time to figuring out what happened.

Today, on my way home from work, I decided to call my wife and the truck connected to the phone. Before I could switch it to speaker phone, I heard the ring tone through the truck speakers. The sound was clear instead of static. I let the call continue. When my wife answered, it was still clear. My wife confirmed she could hear fine on her end too which was not the case before. I don't see a recent update downloaded or installed so I'm not sure what transpired, but it appears to have resolved itself.

I spoke too soon.

I called my teenage son this afternoon and the horrible static was back.

I am going to upgrade to a newer phone Moto G Stylus 5G 2023 via my carrier Google Fi that has a deal for only $100.

My wife and both have the same model Motorola Moto G cell phones.

I also found that using my truck as a bluetooth speaker for playing youtube videos, music etc works just fine. It's only when calling do I have this problem.

Had same issue with static in a 2022 F150 using a 5 year old Motorola G7. I replaced the phone with a new Motorola G7 and re-paired to the truck...so far working and clear with no static. Will update if this goes south in the future.

That appears to be my backup plan. Probably in the next year or so I'll upgrade my phone and hope the issue goes away.

2021 F150 - I have the same issue, appeared to have started after Power-up 6.4.0, but not exactly sure. My wife an I both have the Motorola Z4 and mine has the issue her does not, yet mine works great with every other blue tooth device I have. If I place a call, click the button to send it to the phone speaker and back to the truck the call works fine. It's a pain, but a work around. Thinking about new phone, but read somewhere another person did that and the problem reappeared. Sure would ne nice if Ford offered a way to back out updates to see if that is the problem or not.
