On my way to work this morning I hit a smaller to moderate bump on the interstate and a low-level humming/buzzing sound started accompanied by a slight vibration in the steering wheel. The sound and vibration were proportional to my speed and almost sound and felt as though something was just touching my tire tread as I drove down the road. After hitting another small to moderate bump, the noise went away. I continued my 25-minute drive without reoccurrence.

On my way home this evening, the same thing happened again.

In my mind, I imagined that part of the retractable air dam just barley touching the tire tread as I drove down the road.

Once I got home and inspected the front tires and surrounding plastic, I didn't see how anything could be touching the wheels...

I did manage to catch one to two seconds of the sound. If you watch the video below, the low frequency droning sound can be heard from 0:00 to 0:01.

Any ideas??

Hello, David!
Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer.
I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist with this vibration/noise concern. Thanks!

might be the heat / sound insulation dragging on the driveline.. there is a recall out for some VINs

Did you get this resolved? I just got my new F-150 and I I experienced this today. I am curious to know what it is.

Idk id look at driveline stuff frankly. Check cv boots, pinion angle if its only happening between certain speeds, look for missing wheel weights, look for missing driveshaft weights. Does your truck have 4a?
