I'm waiting for the 2027 totally new Powerboost or whatever it may be called. I'm hoping by then it will be a lot better and worth keeping for the next 10 years.
They should do a merge of the Lightning and PowerBoost concepts. Much bigger battery, bigger drive motor. A battery with even 30 miles range would be a huge deal given how much regen a truck this heavy can drive.

I'd be okay with the payload hit.

You describe my dream truck, although Ford COULD do so and still maintain 1500lbs average Payload if they wanted to.

Can you imagine how well it would sell? It would certainly top Powerboost V1 by a considerable margin, in my opinion.

The cynic in me…close my eyes.
The only way to show is to mimic the steps that make it happen AT the dealership. And HOPE they can T/S as if it goes away they probably wouldn’t be able to fix anything

Wish you could toss a Delta Pro or similar in the bed, plugged into 240V outlet, and have the truck treat it like an extension of the PowerBoost battery, leverage it for more all electric miles.

The PBs little e-motor uses more energy than a decent sized house with EVERYTHING running (I do mean everything). To feed it with 240v without any conversion loss requires 146 amps. A little portable or semi portable backup system doesn't come close to meeting its needs.

You and me both. When I ordered my XLT , I had a sheet with options and the estimated weight gain with each option. Official CCC for my truck is 1645#.

I know me.
How long my Powerboost will last is not likely the determing factor for how long I keep it.
Instead, I'm NOT going to move from it to another truck until someone builds something I like better.

It could easily be Ford if they'd just build V2 of what I already have.

Mine only lasted a year with many major problems. Had to trade it in (no Lemmon law in communist Canada)I’m out just over $10k. Never again will I even consider a hybrid especially from Ford.

Ram charger is looking to be a 3/4 ton truck, possibly on the 145ish wheelbase with its 8 lug axles. Curious if they'll offer a long bed.

Count me in the camp of something closer to a Lightning or a PHEV Powerboost. I'd happily give up a bit of the HP and torque to get better mpg. Maybe there's been some realization that for most people, the tech and infrastructure isn't there for fully electric trucks to be a good answer for many use cases (towing for example). Will this cause a move to a PHEV compromise?

Soo my question for my fellow powerboost owners is.....how long do you plan to keep and use your Powerboost?
I bought mine semi-unintentionally as a company truck...after a year of no stock on ICE trucks, I got a budget bump and jumped on a PB that a dealer friend had on the lot. I've always been a big fan of hybrids, though, and believe it's the tech for the future, until battery and solar tech can equal or exceed fossil fuel.

When I got this truck, I was blown away by it, and for the first few months of driving, fully intended to buy it from the company at end of corp service life, then keep it forever. I was even willing to replace the battery at EOL. I was excited about trips and unremarkable drives to work...
But...dealer support and how it's held up to basic wear and tear have been very disappointing.
Once the hybrid drivetrain warranty is up (about 1.5 year by current mileage), and costs exceed value, it will go to auction. The company has now dropped the F150 standard, so unless dealer service suddenly does a full 180 and figures out how to solve my issues, I won't get another one.
