Great review and great looking truck! Small world, was at the exact same Jack Stacks a few months ago and it was pretty dang good.

You're right! This is not an easy picture to get and I did the best I could considering the time of day (but this is the exact thing that will make me get out of bed to investigate). All of these pics are from underneath, looking up. In the second pic, you can see the ribs on the crank pully where a belt should be closest to the engine. The 3rd pic clearly shows only 1 belt attached from the crank to the water pump so I would say that your rumor was correct.I know a picture under the hood that I would LOVE to see. You won't necessarily be able to get a great shot, but you will be able to discern if your truck even has the BISG (Belt integrated starter)
Rumors are that the 2024 Powerboost doesn't have one. That Ford used software magic to no longer need it.
And without it, the 3.5 Ecoboost in your Powerboost only has one belt since only the water pump would be spun by the crankshaft.
This is what you are looking for, if you don't mind: (the yellow component. And if it's not there, neither would the beefy green belt tensioner)

If Ford put an electric water pump on the Powerboost, the ICE literally would have no need for the crank pully. No belts.
Oh, and nice truck regardless of what you discover.![]()
The pic below was my timeline. Aside from one exception, it stayed true. My original production date was March 6 and in early February, I got shifted back one week. On March 26, I called Chip at Granger and as luck would have it, he was sitting in my truck when I called to confirm it had arrived. This timeline includes having a factory bedliner sprayed in.I contacted Granger last week about ordering a King Ranch and was told that it would be 6-9 months before it would come in. I asked about locking in my PCO with an order and they said that they don’t do that.
Gone but it still has the studs in the front and the little gray clips in the back. Maybe this was done for heat or possibly even to help allow any moisture to evaporate more easily. Who knows? No more engine covers I guess. Or just off for cleaning/pictures?
Looks like they got rid of the engine cover that says “powerboost” guess that must be weight savings. ?Anything specific? The bottom of the hood and engine bay are painted in a flat black. I found this odd since I've seen several colored trucks with white engine compartments but this is my first flat black. It's cool I guess but I didn't remove the water spots.
I will say, I removed about 57 lbs. (+/-) of both regular and black masking tape from under the hood. I guess they left it there during assembly and there was a large rubber band from the hood latch stretched to under the radiator reservoir.

Thanks. I’m looking to order a King Ranch because it’s basically a platinum and $6k cheaper. I’m not a fan of the two tone paint, but for $6k I’ll learn to love it. On my last truck order I was able to combine the military offer and PCO. I can get a plan discount code from a relative that works at the factory, but it looks like the pricing is similar. The pic below was my timeline. Aside from one exception, it stayed true. As for PCO, if it is valid, you will get it. My PCO said I needed to either order a 2024 or take delivery of dealer stock by April 2nd. Obviously, I ordered before April 2nd and when I spoke with Shelby (financing at Granger), I specifically asked about this. I had also confirmed it with Ford Marketing sometime in February when I called their 1-800 number. They were able to look up my order number and see all available offers including the PCO. I don't know if I had to give them my PCO number or not but they confirmed it was attached to my order number.
Needless to say, unless you have a special Ford employee discount code, Granger will be the cheapest dealership to buy a new Ford truck from anywhere in America even without a PCO. That said, I see you are Air Force, I doubt you can combine your $500 military rebate with your PCO. I couldn't and had to choose one or the other. I chose the PCO.
At the end of the day, if you want a new Ford, call them back...unless you hate your money. If you are lucky and it arrives in a short time like mine did, great. If you were told correctly and it will take 6-9 months to get your new truck, that's even better because it will be at the end of the year and you will get all of the end of year financing incentives and likely more $$$ off in rebates. I had to wait to take delivery (personal reasons) otherwise I'd have had my truck nearly 2 weeks ago. Luckily, during my wait, Ford changed their incentives and offered a slightly better rate that I was able to take advantage of. In short, sometimes waiting isn't a bad thing.

They could at least say “hybrid” or something on the air cleaner cover like how the 5.0L says “V8” on it. They’d achieve the same weight savings! I guess you all ready have a badge on the door for PB, Ford must figure that’s all they are willing to spend on badging lol. I noticed Ford also eliminated the “EcoBoost” exterior badge for 2.7 trucks. Every penny counts apparently, even when you raise msrp by several thousandLooks like they got rid of the engine cover that says “powerboost” guess that must be weight savings. ?
It's like it was designed to be able to bypass the HV system entirely and they just never implemented the bypass logic by keeping the clutch fully engaged and instead got a less reliable product. Then they decided to delete the bypass parts they never used. But what I suspect allowed Ford to nix the BISG is one, they weren't using it as a BISG, but rather just a BIS. It was never in generator mode because the truck has a DC/DC converter. And second, I guess they tweaked the programming for the traction motor clutching enough to be satisfied with starting ICE by turning the crank with it?
