Your not going to have to do the can bus update. The USB method will work this time around. Ford has fixed the update issue with the IPC

Now I need to get a license and see this miracle actually happen!! Guess I'll just sit on the porch and drink beer for 5 house to celebrate if it actually works with USB now.

Or just wait for it to come OTA like I am doing.

Until we get all the module updates at once to get BC 1.x I'm not giving Ford a dime for a subscription.

Good advice! I need to look up which power up is the IPC and wait to see if it fails to update OTA. The dealership did the last IPC for me and noted on the paperwork that it failed the usb method and required 5+ hours to install.

I expect to have it before end of month and I'll post on the thread if OTA works. It would be first ever successful IPC OTA for my 21 job 1.

I thought my IPC update had gone through, but not the case. I have tied up at work and have not been able to troubleshoot, but I plan on messing with it later tonight.

@Dvcpro13 I saw the request, but it seemed like he wanted an FDRS check which I can't do until I get home later. Last OTA was 3.5.3 and that was ten days ago. He's behind and I am sure the list of pending module updates is a long one.

Thanks guys. To be honest I don’t even really know what I’m asking for. I’m trying to get my head around it all and I certainly appreciate everyone’s patience and help. All I know is my screen doesn’t look like my buddies screen and it bothers me lol. He’s at 23045 rev. 731. His truck is brand new mind you. I did get the 3.5.3 power-up on the 13th. Thanks again!

With that update, you have full-screen capability now. It is possible that your buddy made changes with FORScan to change the appearance of his screen. Perhaps that is why it looks so different.

He didn’t do any screen changes with Forscan. I only know this because I’ve done all his requested changes for him. It’s not completely different to be fair. Just little things like the temperature looks different and a couple other little things. I think it just bugs me more that mine isn’t current and I can’t figure out how to do it.

How to do it is not difficult. The problem is the adapter needed is not the same one you use for FORScan. The adapter to do updates costs $540 plus paid access to FDRS.

Yes, the module updates are with FDRS. I just got home. I'll check for you before I start tinkering with my truck to try and fix whatever tf I broke updating my IPC earlier.

Ford won't pay dealers to perform module updates and nobody likes to work for free. You'd need 6-10 hours worth of module updates to be fully up to date.
