Pro power onboard detected a fault

This kept happening all summer. I would get the pro power detected a fault, then I’ll get the engine control system has detected a fault with the two accelerator position sensor. If I don’t shut the truck off it then goes into limp mode with engine malfunction high voltage battery. But here’s the kicker if I turn the truck off it all goes away. The dealership can’t get it to duplicate the problem.

Codes on forscan? I assume not since you took to dealer. Can you get a video to show the dealer?

I don’t think that will help because the dealership said they had to reproduce the problem.

It is difficult for the technician to "pinpoint" (what Ford calls the troubleshooting technique) the source of the issue without at least code(s) to start with.

There's several components that make up the High Voltage side of the Powerboost. The codes will at least give them a starting point for process of elimination.
I admit that what you are reporting isn't something that I've seen posted before.

I know it is inconvenient, but I'd keep Forscan available in the truck for the next time it happens and then harvest all codes before cycling the key to return the truck to functional.

My really dumb thoughts would be check to make sure ALL fuses are seated tight. Curious if one could start the snowball to limp mode if loose. Doubtful but an easy check of the list.
Make sure battery cables are tight. Under the hood and under the seat. Put a tester on those batteries.
Have you completed any electrical mods. Fuse taps etc.?
Do you have and or do you keep anything “plugged in” to the outlets.
After that I might go deeper to carefully inspect every wire harness to ensure connected. See if you find anything that looks like it has been chewed on. Many reports of mice wanting to eat these trucks. Literally. Wishing you the best of luck and keep checking in here for more experts that are far more savvy than I. After my physical check of wire connections and etc this forum is exactly where I would come for help.

Interesting.
How similar exactly, can I ask?

If they chose to replace the whole 10r80 MHT, did they mention in the work order anything that would explain why they replaced more than just the traction motor?
I admit that it would be less labor to do so, but surprised that Ford authorized them to do so.
Maybe Ford wanted the whole assembly back for inspection?

The recommendation to check plugs is a good one. These trucks have so many plugs that if one were partially seated and one pin could "bounce" in its seat, it could do the random dance you seem to have.

i pick up the truck tomorrow and will have better info then. I took it in for power train error reduced power message. dealer worked on that and it started producing the pedal sensor error, which was escalated to ford. They started least Invasive, but the pedal replacement didn’t help. ford then directed them to the valve body which was replaced. Still getting same errors. So they finally were directed to the entire transmission.
tomorrow we will see for sure if this fixed it.

The truck finally threw a code where we could get it to the dealer. It threw code POB24
