Well, I finally had time to give these settings a shot. I have an XLT 302A and only have heated seats (not cooled) so I used IPC code 3 instead of 5. But that didn't work so I tried 5 as if I have Heated & Cooled seats & I still can't seem to get the wheel to heat up. Is the new HVAC I installed with both heat & cool buttons not compatible? It appears I can't get the seats to heat now either. Unless there's something inhibiting them if the temperature is warm outside? It's still 82 degrees where I'm at.
I did find a note about changing HVAC 733-01-02 (4) from xxx1 to xxx9 and the HSW button on the HVAC panel now lights up! Small victory, but the wheel still doesn't heat. HELP!

On another subject, I was looking at a couple other settings while making these changes and switched on the 75th anniversary splash screen. This required enabling "Unreal" theme. the spreadsheet notes say to "RESET" APIM in Forscan after either/both changes. What does that actually mean?? Surely not to reset the settings back to 'As Built' otherwise that defeats the purpose. Any help here as well?

Thanks.
@spiritrider1 mine is set to 8. Button lit and heat. Make sure you got good power and good ground.

Adding HSW to 22 lariat don't have anything. But bought used steering wheel, sccm w/clock spring, and hvac control w/hard button, and harness. This question may be in this thread but I did not run across it. Do I only need to enable heated steering wheel in sccm and hvac control. Or is there apim settings that need to change as wheel. Thank you in advance.
The question is answered in this thread. After you install everything you have to go into Forscan and load your AS BUILT configuration. Then change them to allow HSW.

Ah ya, that would be your issues then if you have it configed for heat only, but the HVAC has both heat and cooled buttons. You might try to mess around with the two values below and change them to include cooled also, that should make the HVAC happy and will output the right message to the seats to enable heat, just don't use the cooled button at all.

You've got a point. It may need a configuration that matches the HVAC vs. one that matches my stock HVAC. Not for some time to plug the laptop back in...

It seems a lot of the HSW delete trucks had all the parts except the correct SCCM (and HVACM with hard button)
My April '23 build did not come with a heated wheel. Fingers crossed, it sounds like I have the wiring at least. I should be doing this upgrade next week. I bought a wheel, SCCM and HVAC unit.

Thank you to all who have commented with advice here. I have installed everything and attempted to get it all working on my truck. I am having an issue with forscan and the value change in the hvac module. When I try to write the value for cell 733-01-02, it acts like it will write it, but at 100% it kicks me to the log and says the service procedure was interrupted. I have updates forscan software and attempted my good cable and an older one I had. Same error each time. I will contact forscan, but was wondering if anyone had any ideas here.

I have made all other changes with no issues, superdury change as well as I have the smaller screen. Heat button shows on screen.

Thank you!

my 402A Tremor built in Jan of 2023 has the wiring to the back of the SCCM, but non-heated wheel SCCM + non-heating element tremor wheel.

So far I've got the HVAC panel (with LCD read out), just the clock spring (-B part with the heated wheel wiring) and the steering wheel bolt. The tremor wheel with heat is still on backorder until mid-November. I'm hopeful to put this on around thanksgiving timeframe!

When you connect forscan don’t select a previously saved profile and let it scan for all of the modules again. I’ve found this to be the solution most of the time when encountering this error.

I tried that this morning and still got the same result. Thank you.

Now the heat button just sits there on the radio not working, mocking me. Lol!

You need the whole SCCM module with the clock spring, not just the clock spring by itself.
Why? The only thing my truck's SCCM doesn't have is the wiring for the wheel heat. I was just going to swap the clockspring into my SCCM.

Just installed HSW on 22 F 150 lariat. Installed wiring, sccm, Hvac control did all forscan changes. Light comes on but wheel does not heat up and have a code in sccm for u210a temperature sensor. Circuit short to battery or open. Has anyone seen this or have any idea what I need to look at. Parts where from ebay and were to be new. None had any signs of being installed, scratches from bolts or anything. Any help would be appreciated.
