As far as I’m aware, GM is the only company who uses inline sensors in their flex fuel capable vehicles.
I don’t know enough about CANBUS but if you could find a way to send CAN messages from an ethanol controller that would be the easiest way to to integrate with Ford. Just need to figure that...
you’re not following. They just removed the flex fuel logic from the strategy. If you flash a 21-23 OS on the PCM you’ll have flex fuel.
It was removed to meet emissions, it’s just software and uses the primary o2 sensors and logic to know you have ethanol in the tank.
No 13th gen or 14th gen...
The news is primarily the ability to read and write the PCM through the ODB2 port. The capabilities are the same as 21-23 trucks with the possibility of some tables not being mapped or unlocked right now.
I would not expect anything game changing from a capability standpoint.
perhaps PCMTEC...
Unlikely unless you can get a canbus sensor or they let you use another PCM input for flex fuel.
you might be able to use the strategy from a 21-23 truck with the 24/25 and get the inferred logic. It’s fine for N/A but not reliable for boost.
An inline sensor would at least give you reliable...
what I stated is still true, there isn't an inline ethanol sensor like a GM. It's just logic in the PCM. I have no desire to ever run 87 so I didn't ask for a tune with 87 octane support. I know OZ has a single tune covering everything and e40 is about the break point. I'm not mixing fuels so...
it doesn't, there is just logic in the PCM strategy that uses the oxygen sensors to add or remove fuel. That ethanol number is inferred and if you have any type of air leak behind the throttle body to the oxygen sensor it can be wrong. It's pretty okay on N/A stuff but that's why anyone tuning a...
Since my FDRS is expired I can't just look at what updates are sitting out there. Any chance you can check to see if there is something out there for my vin? 1FTFW1E55PFA59040
Your 21 truck PCM died so you're swapping to a 2023? or you have a 2023 and you want to swap to a 21/22 so you can tune it?
If the latter, then yes, you do a module replacement in FDRS with a dealer login (must be used to have access to PATS). It will program the VIN, strategy and asbuilt, not...
Figured out the “charge only use device” message when attempting to update my APIM, I was using a usb 3.0 stick. As soon as I grabbed a 2.0 stick it worked perfectly. I’m fairly certain the usb 3 one worked when I did the GWM A update.

This is what I'm talking about, there is mention of F150 in here as well. Coordinating between ODBII AND ethernet (USB on the car side). Figured I'd ask. Maybe something we'll see more of in the...
No I'm talking about the vehicle using a USB adapter (IIRC mache requiring one with a direct connection to the GWM A or something) and then running direct to the laptop's ethernet port (or USB-> ethernet adapter).
Properly implemented ethernet would be worlds faster for larger updates and would...
I've seen the discussions around the ethernet adapter being used to connect a mach-e to a laptop with FDRS to update, is there a similar process for the 21+ f150, any benefit to speed of updating when using ethernet?
Appreciate this write-up, I bought the DR-900X-CH1 Plus and used the wiring kit that came with it to hard wire it into the truck following this write-up. Worked perfectly. I set the camera to join the hotspot in the truck (which I use to help keep my kids occupied as we often travel 1-2 hours to...
