my latest codes, including the 2nd SSN
Thanks. And for others I hope this example makes it is clear how important it is to have something like the OBDLink app to figure out what is going on. The SSN alert is generic. It can appear for many fault conditions. If you own a PB, at the current incomplete state of evolution of this vehicle you cannot rely on warning messages and idiot lights to manage the systems. You need an app like OBDLink or others that offer the same functionality.

You can just ask your friendly local Ford Authorized Service Center service writer what they think is the problem with your truck.

They are a wealth of information about our latest and greatest Powerboost trucks.

Sorry, couldn't resist.
I've had a few shots of my favorite espresso this morning. ?

But I think it's also fair to say that speaking well of your truck, even glowing about it, shouldn't be considered as kissing anyone's dairyaire.
Thank goodness for that or I'd be all puckered out by now! I❤MyPB;)

My truck keeps sending me the same message, it started about a week ago. What is the fix to stop it?

Hi Ford, can you help me too? We just bought a 2023 Ford F-150 Lariat hybrid and I was so happy. Biggest purchase we have ever made on a vehicle- got it as a tow vehicle for our E-Pro. At any rate, husband had an appointment, truck would not start- had the "Full Power Accessory Mode" light and the "Stop Safely now". Only reason we are even thinking about keeping it is our wonderful dealer and their wonderful service staff and manager. They got P0A1E and TSB 23-2279 codes- fixed some things. Now same thing happened to me tonight. Could not get it to even shut off right away (Electric, not gas engine). Hoping I can get it started tomorrow morning to take it up to them. Going to try some of the tricks we found online to get it started . Rumor is there is a software fix coming this quarter? We really like the truck but need a really reliable vehicle, just like everyone else does.

Hi there! Would you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership name and location? I’d like to look into this concern on my end.

As ridiculous as it sounds, when you get in the truck press the "start" button without your foot on the brake. Wait 5 seconds, put your foot on the brake and press the start button, it will start every time. Ford does have a fix available but the amount of time it takes to apply the fix varies from dealer to dealer. Some have had the fix applied in an hour. Others are taking a week to apply the fix. This discrepancy is due to every Ford dealership having absolutely knowledgeable Ford techs who understand how important it is for people to be able to use the vehicles they purchased combined with the fact that our trucks are giant rolling computers and all of the techs/mechanics have a degree in computer science. - Sorry for the sarcasm but I am finding dealers who think nothing of keeping people's vehicles for weeks and then are surprised when people are upset. If I wanted my vehicle to sit at the dealership for weeks I simply could have not purchased it off the lot.

You just gave a perfect explanation why so many Mongoose OBD adapters have sold to members of this forum.
Ford could probably cut in half the customer goodwill debt they owe Gen14 F150 owners if they just supplied the Mongoose with the truck, and complimentary access to FDRS. ?

The ownership experience is SO much better not ever having to even visit the dealership after purchase.

I guess you missed the post where this did not work for me the 2nd time.

I think it's a timing thing, futzing around with things, and time 'x' (settle time) passes by and then it starts again. Whether it's the guy who said his relay under the hood was hot, and after 'x' it cooled down. Or the guy who said start it remotely from the app (also doesn't work until after settle time 'x'). Or push aux on, then On. Just my 2c, on my particular fault condition, but then ties back to the disclaimer that this high level codes don't necessarily tie back to the root cause.

But worth the try - I just wouldn't bolster the confidence that it "works every time", given the varying root causes.

I wholeheartedly agree that the service model is BROKEN. Having to hold hostage vehicles without having any accountability to providing a loaner (it's all over the place) just exacerbates the CSAT issue.

I missed where it had failed to work for anyone. My apologies. I had 3 SSN's in a week. Statrted using the two step method and have not had any issues since. But I need to get it fixed. It is not fun having a vehicle you cannot trust to start.

agreed - so frustrating! I love the ride (power train engineers got it DOWN!) - I dislike the fact that the technology guys are about 10 years behind the competition (LKA doesn't work, adaptive cruise optional? On a 63K truck?), Android/Sync navigation volume returns to preset volume on every turn even after being turned down (issue since 2015 with Sync 2 - Ford obviously doesn't care), and drive mode returns to where Ford thinks it should be, not where the driver left it - the audacity! No excuse for these little programming anomalies.

But I especially hate not having the confidence that I can go out and get in my truck and be somewhere on time, when I potentially have to wait 10-15 minutes for things to settle so I can boot up and start. I don't see these being used with first responders any time soon, with these issues.

My scheduled appointment is tomorrow. Praying it goes well - I hope for no battle with the service engineer as I carry in the printout of codes, the dates I've had the SSN in the last month since I've bought the rig, and the TSB with the qualifying codes.

Stay tuned....
