I absolutely love you guys and I don’t care who knows it!!! ???. I have found so much information shared by so many intelligent people and direct help when I’ve sent a PM. Like @Snakebitten this forum has made my Gen 14 experience so much more enjoyable. I have completed mods I most likely would have never thought of.
Sure sometimes I have to get some text books out that I should have already read to decipher the language and the acronyms and so on…but that’s because I’m dumb!!! But it forces me to learn more. Hell, right now my truck is at the dealer waiting on a warranty CV axle…second time. I’m not even mad about it anymore! (Kind of a lie)
For me I absolutely love the banter and the passion between those who believe firmly in their stance and I have found very little disrespect.
Now with all that said…stock Gen 14 for stock Gen 14…who wants to race my PB for pink slips to prove I’m right?

I really liked the Expedition forum I was on. That forum though, some of the OG guys passed away and many owners moved on to new vehicles (myself included). It’s not the same anymore. From 2017-2020 we had a raging crew there. It’s kind of dead now. The 4th gen owners who have taken over aren’t my cup of tea, I may be in my twenties but I get along best with older people. They are more middle millennials having kids etc, less hands on. Nothing against them but I just done jive with that whole group it seems. I like to dig into things and figure out/repair. This forum is a nice mix of everyone (by the way you don’t need to be hands on lol) I was just saying I missed the overall vibe. I think we all here understand Ford makes a great variety of options for the endless likes/wants of different buyers and we get along well.

I'm here from Ranger5g.com waiting for my 2024 F-150, in hopes of learning (and spending ? ) as much (or as little) as I can before delivery. We have a blast on that forum....lots of good ribbing, running jokes, like tailgate dampers and 303 products and a few well-known members. A few, but not many, threads get some folks hot under the collar, but the other 99.9% are great. I'll miss the Joke and gun threads after I fully migrate here.....maybe I'll sneak back occasionally for those :sneaky:

This forum is milk toast compared to some others like the hull truth and Corvette Forum and a Camaro forum. You'd better have thick skin if your on them.

I find this forum has a lot of in depth information.. A great group of people who are willing to share their knowledge.. Makes my experience of owning an amazing machine very enjoyable..

Every once in a while, people do get passionate about their opinions.. But we are all human.. I haven't found the discussions to get uncivilized.. It is always interesting to read different opinions.. Regardless of whether we subscribe to them or not!

That Gen4 Coyote intimidates us Powerboostr's.
We secretly, down deep, wish that 7.2KW generator was attached to that marvelous piece of engineering.

There. I said it. I feel like 1000lbs fell off my shoulders.
Well, that and slap the hybrid system on there from the Aviator. 500 hp and 650 lb/ft of face melting torque!!!!

I'm here from Ranger5g.com waiting for my 2024 F-150,
The folks there are great too. I frequented the site often when I had my Ranger.

Lots of great knowledge and brainpower around here as well. It's also cost me several thousand dollars in mods since I got my F150...

Well said. The knowledge and brainpower on this forum is unreal. The willingness of a few people to help a bunch of us is what makes this forum special. There has been a few incidents of unpurposeful comments but the posters are either ignored or made gentle fun of which usually stops the thread.

Also agree that this forum has cost me a lot of money learning about mods I had no idea that I really "needed" (at least I tell my wife they are absolutely required!).

It's way worst on the Reddit and Facebook group. It makes this place look civil. I had to drop out of the others, lol.
I actually don’t think the Reddit one is too bad (are you talking about the /F150 one?). It’s definitely better than the local town/region subreddits, omg!!

Generally it’s not too bad here IMO. Some folks do take comments personally or put a lot of personal weight into their views on certain subjects but it doesn’t feel too bad to me. (Note: I don’t read any of the non-truck related threads. I’m gonna guess I’m of a different political tilt than many truck owners, lol, and life is simply too short to discuss politics online!)

We all have you to protect us from all nonsense though.
It'll be OK. :)
The way you can get one of these to last 30 years is to take care of the basics. In my observation across a 30 years career operating and maintaining ships is that it is the basics that keeps machinery going and going like the energizer bunny... When ever you get fancy you've probably forgotten something...

I have only been on here a short time. I am enjoying the great information and trying to provide helpful information when I can.

Do people notice how heated some of the conversations get in these forums?

I understand that we are passionate about our vehicles and our beliefs as well. When I see some of the posts I say to myself “this one is going to get heated!”. Maybe it’s just what the internet has become. If you disagree with something then go on the attack.

Some of the topics that seem to make people the most passionate are (but not limited to):

-Arguments on what is the best displacement (usually brought up based on a simple towing or mpg questions). These trucks aren’t one-size-fits all. Our needs are all different.

-Towing questions usually lead to what is too much for these half-tons to tow regardless of what the recommendations are from the manufacturer. These get really heated. Get out your popcorn. This rabbit hole is a good one.

-What octane gas to use regular, mid-grade or premium regardless again of what the manufacturer recommends.

There are more but these are the ones I could think of for

We are on here to give advice when we can and to find helpful advice when needed. Strong opinions are like a**holes we all have them and they all stink. I will just sit here in disbelief at what some of us are bickering about.

Regardless of all of this, this is the best place to help and find help.
if you think those topics get people heated, wait till you check out any of the posts related to powering your house with a Powerboost

Ah yes, the 'defer to authority group' vs those (er, the one) who understands it and suggests the short dog bone to rectify it. No idea who that rebel is ?

One of the images a member sent me regarding a generator interconnect means installed by an electrician to use a generator. The ground on the gen's 4 pin connector wasn't included in the 3 pin 240v connection to the home, just L1, L2, and N. Some electricians understand.
