I have only been on here a short time. I am enjoying the great information and trying to provide helpful information when I can.

Do people notice how heated some of the conversations get in these forums?

I understand that we are passionate about our vehicles and our beliefs as well. When I see some of the posts I say to myself “this one is going to get heated!”. Maybe it’s just what the internet has become. If you disagree with something then go on the attack.

Some of the topics that seem to make people the most passionate are (but not limited to):

-Arguments on what is the best displacement (usually brought up based on a simple towing or mpg questions). These trucks aren’t one-size-fits all. Our needs are all different.

-Towing questions usually lead to what is too much for these half-tons to tow regardless of what the recommendations are from the manufacturer. These get really heated. Get out your popcorn. This rabbit hole is a good one.

-What octane gas to use regular, mid-grade or premium regardless again of what the manufacturer recommends.

There are more but these are the ones I could think of for

We are on here to give advice when we can and to find helpful advice when needed. Strong opinions are like a**holes we all have them and they all stink. I will just sit here in disbelief at what some of us are bickering about.

Regardless of all of this, this is the best place to help and find help.

The problem with text is that you can read into it things that just aren't there. Typically it's not until personal attacks come is something skewing into a poor direction -- that's quite rare here. Sometimes it's a difference of opinions and who is going to mediate a difference of opinions? The truck is a tool and one's successes don't translate across all uses or users.

I'm new here too but this board seems pretty mild to me so far. Some are much worse. If things start to get testy I just bail out. Thread or forum. There's not much room in my life for fightin' with folks on the internet anymore. Overall it's just not worth it.

The Facebook groups are far more ridiculous and irrational. You would think people would be more careful because usually pictures of people are there for all to see. Identities are not completely confidential really.

Speaking of thread hijacks, isn't it funny reading the 5.0 guys who, if they go slow enough, can actually achieve 20.0mpg avg? LMAO! Slower and worse gas mileage? Yes please say the knuckle draggers! "My truck sounds cool so that means it's better heh-heh."

How was that? ;)

It's way worst on the Reddit and Facebook group. It makes this place look civil. I had to drop out of the others, lol.

There's nothing I can do to disguise the fact that I'm the biggest blabber mouth here. The dang software platform keeps track of the embarrassing statistics.
But I can assure you that I would bail in a heartbeat if the negative waves threatened the overall goodwill that I have found here.

This place is loaded with amazingly generous and very smart folks. And honestly, it's made the ownership experience of my Gen14 F150 Powerboost FAR better.

Ford built the truck.
The forum addressed all the shortcomings. (For my truck)

I can't overstate how much difference that makes.

Sir, you baited me in. This knuckle dragger regularly gets 22 mpg @ 82 to 85 mph!
"no batteries required" :ROFLMAO:;)

That Gen4 Coyote intimidates us Powerboostr's.
We secretly, down deep, wish that 7.2KW generator was attached to that marvelous piece of engineering.

There. I said it. I feel like 1000lbs fell off my shoulders.

Moved over from the other forum to have something more focused on my current truck after Rugedraw suggested FDRS over there. Lots of very helpful people here and good mix of posts to check mods.

The search feature is garbage. Worse than many forums I've been on. I see the same topics come up every few weeks and I think a lot of that is because it is so damn hard to find what you are looking for. Google has better search but even with that still can be difficult to find old posts.

There are a few heated topics like every forum, and it is always the same BS you pointed out.

Oil threads, engine size, etc.

I do need to find information on actually working on my truck. It does seem to be rare to see DIY on this forum. Except the recent oil thread.

Lol, the 7.2kw would be a great addition to the coyote. But remember the mighty coyote transforms into a 2.5 ltr. Four banger at highway speed and then has nothing on the PB! ?
