Your last few updates have failed to install. The update in your queue currently is failing due to low SOC which is very common with that particular update. I recommend you take the truck for a nice 20-30 minute drive at night before you park it. When you park it, attached a battery charger to it (10amp+ AGM charger is recommended) and set your auto-updates schedule to install at 4am or so after the truck has been on the charger for a few hours. This will not guarantee that it installs, but it will greatly increase the chances of it installing.



Your update history looks good. You are missing a few updates to be fully up to date, but none of the updates you are missing will give you anything new.....they are just preparatory updates for the future. I don't think you need a Mongoose.

I responded to you on the other thread. Your truck is on the latest Sync. Nothing to be worried about as far as updates go.

Thank you rugedraw, I went to a 4 hour day drip and came back and put it in a charger and the update still failed. What do you recommend my next step should be? Thank you!

@RickBullotta just reported a GWM update in FDRS for his 21. Could someone have a look and see I have it as well? Might be worth giving Ford some money. I have GWM, PCM, APIM on my list of high priority updates.

You currently have an ACM and APIM module update pending. If you do the APIM update, I suspect that the GWM update will show up shortly after that.

Just bought a used 2021 Lariat. I have a gut feeling it’s missing several OTA and module updates (auto updates are greyed out and I can’t turn them on).

Have an appointment for some other warranty work next week, wondering if this is something I should have them investigate, or if it is something that a combo of mongoose/FDRS is able rectify myself.

Your truck is on Sync 20301 which is old software known to break the OTA process. I would try to get your dealer to get you out of it's current state as it is not easy to do even with the Mongoose and FDRS. Tell them your truck has never received an OTA update and it is still on the same software it was built with. They need to manually update your APIM using TSB 22-2404. Once they get your truck passed that, you can do the rest.

I don't have any other recommendations, tbh. Maybe your battery is bad? You can have your dealer test it to see if that's the case. I would keep trying while the OTA trigger is active to see if it goes through. I have checked trucks where PTS said the SOC was over 90% and it still failed. It could be there is nothing wrong with your truck or your battery and it is just Ford's crappy OTA process being.....well.....crappy.

Your OTA history shows several failed updates, but your vehicle history also shows your truck was manually updated and PTS does not register a Sync version for your truck. It is hard for me to say where your truck stands with what I can see. Post a pic of your "about sync" screen in the settings of your touch screen.

They'll need your VIN in order to see the specific updates you need, but that software version is more than two years out-of-date.

Pretty far behind, but getting updates. You got 3.5.2 in May. Next update 3.5.3 will finally give you full-screen capability for carplay/android auto. No way of telling when you will get the update sent to you and nothing you can do to get the update sent to you.

You're even further behind, but your truck is past the older software that breaks the OTA process. Looking closer at your vehicle history, it seems a dealer replaced you APIM back in March and did not PMI it. When you can, send me a pic of the entire "about sync" screen so I can have the guru take a look at your truck. You may have some config issues that need to be resolved in order for your updates to start going through successfully.

Thanks again good sir. And here i was thankin i got the full screen with the coolwalk update in AA. I am anxious to see it though, if i ever do, because it takes up all but about a 1/2 in at the bottom now. ?‍. Is what it is
