I'm happy with my 8k under msrp for 22' 501a lariat sport powerboost.

It's about time that the f-150 comes standard with led headlights.

The PB comes with loads of features for that price. Once they patch whatever faulty module startup sequence is causing the SSN error, the misplaced paranoia will vanish. The BAP package is available on a few colors, not just black.

Does it lose the hood -- not fond of the wheels, IIRC those are from the expedition, better than current BAP wheels though? The PB really needs that hood to help on cooling unless they've done something else. Ford went back to traditional OEM 'code' -- make lesser versions look like shit. My 22 XLT 302a that doesn't even have sunroof was $67k -- no way in hell I'd pay that for that bastard design. Looks like the design of a $20k maverick, a real dick move bringing back cheap looking nonsense on a vehicle with that price. The tremors remain the same however -- the 401 is a 302 and the 402 is a 502 for lighting and interior features like cooled seats.
It's not paranoia, it just isn't a good sell. More power but the increased weight means it's not faster. Gas mileage is about 1 more. All for a bunch of whiz bang? No thanks.

Builder shows the black appearance package is for black trucks. Maybe it's wrong but it's forcing black paint

The XLT and the Tremor they showed looked very cheap with that ugly front end. 302a is a nice looking truck and the led reflectors look good, good accent lighting and a lot say they perform better than the led projectors. Now the XLT looks like a poverty truck but it's still 60k

I think we need more clarification on the subscription bullshit they're trying to shift towards.

I saw a comment about no HDPP. The 24 is advertised as having "best in class payload" and I think the mentioned figure was like 2400lbs, which leads me to believe HDPP is still alive and kicking. I'd blame some of the confusion today on the configurator rollout.

The tailgate is pretty unbelievably dumb. That tailgate is already way too heavy with the steps and camera. A few seams in the middle will definitely look like crap.

Pretty shocked at how bad the lower trims look. The restriction of certain features to certain trims like the 2.7 and 5.0 isn't smart.

Good observation on the tow numbers and focus on the singular stale powerboost over the lightning. We really NEED a hybrid in the lineup that actually gets decent mpgs.

Anyways, it's Wednesday and I'm pretty sure I still hate that Farley idiot as much as I did Monday.

Looks like a big profit margin generator for Ford. The B&O Unleashed is now 14 speakers but the description doesn't seems to be identical to 21-23, anyone find new specs?

King Ranch for sure got snubbed and they took away the silver accent on KR/Platinum (I know its for the new tailgate).

I can see the 2400 parts reduction. They also went with the GMC design on the driver side dash to the infotainment system.

Not sure if I missed this previously but looks like 360 Camera might be a subscription based if not paid for up front and Bluecruise only shows a 3 year plan for $2100. I hope they don't push that same model for 21-23 trucks but if we want 1.2 I bet they will. They giveth and they taketh.

The King Ranch has really gotten bad no color choices to go with the new bronze lower color trim. No wheel options the overall package is very under whelming for the significant price increase. The whole F150 line up is way over priced for a lot less content. I guess Farley believes people will buy the F150 no matter what so he can funnel the profits away to his pet EV projects.
I agree that they have limited the choices on the KR. No 600a order code, no monocolor package. But I've done several builds on them and those 601a (KR High) for 2024 are all cheaper than 2023 - with a free Powerboost.

I saw where the BC was already selected with a 90 day trial on the build and price. Then you can also select the 3 year. I’m going to assume with just the included 90 trial, you’ll then have the option of a monthly subscription afterwards.

I didn't read the entirety of this thread. However, the only reason I would move on from my 22 is the lease ending. I'd love the digital cluster, so I could add in some stuff that should already be present in either cluster, like numeric trans temp, but i'm sure ford has figured out a way to remove that unless you have a lariet/platinum/raptor or something.

Even the tailgate doesn't excite me, because at least from the visuals in my mind, I still think its going to hit my tongue jack.

Where are people able to build and price this 2024 though? On the ford website, it only shows 2023 model year.

I believe a different article noted a f-200 might be coming.

Looks like the head rest speakers are the deletes even though it says it on the configurator. Check the video here, hard to tell but I couldn't see them on here.

Wow, just went through the configurator….big changes and some surprising.

BAP Lariat and BAP Platinum powerboost both have significant price drops (~$7000 and ~$3000 respectively)

i’m wondering what invoice will be, platinum is nice with the dome hood too.

bluecruise is now standard equipment (although subscription required) from xlt mid and up which is really cool although xlt pricing is crazy and not sure about that grill. Tremor went up by about $4000 which seems like a lot (I can’t believe the base raptor is only $3000 more than a base 402a tremor)

Figured it out. Was all the way at the bottom, I didn't scroll far enough.

No sport appearance package though? I can't seem to find it. So far net price of 61k. I have to find my window sticker, but I don't think its that far off base, configured the same.

My unsolicited takeaways:

1) Farley did what he said he would. The process is way simpler. The simplicity though comes from a lack of choice. I am disappointed in the wheel choices for the 24 MY. I am stunned that the very popular dark alloy Sport wheels are not an option anymore. The KR (non-chrome) wheels are gone. The upper trims basically come pretty well with all the options, so there is not much room for choice there. The XL trim basically offers no options (standard features were upgraded though).

2) The 12" Screen Standard is a Huge Win. Man, I bet STX sales go through the roof. I can't tell you how many wanted o get an STX at that price point but went XLT just for the upgraded screen. It hasn't been that long since an 8" screen was the standard, but now it just seems cheap. XL and STX sales should benefit.

3) Pro Access Tailgate: I like it. I think that most Ford ppl will like it too (eventually). When GM came out with their multifunction tailgate I was in the midst of misguided Chevy ownership. All of those Chevy guys said that were glad that GMC was getting that "ugly thing" and the only thing the tailgate needed to do was go down. About one year after GMC got it, the Chevy forums were bitching about why the Silverado didn't have it. Two years later, GM complied and now it seems most orders come with one. The point is that changes are rarely just embraced by the faithful - they usually do warm up to it though. My biggest complaint is that it doesn't seem like it is actually available yet for order - says late availability. So does that mean that KR, Plat and Tremor orders will be delayed until the tailgate is ready or do you just not get the new tailgate on those orders in Job 1 (with a $150 delete credit, joking, but not joking)?

4) Platinum Trim is a mess: I am a Platinum owner. I like the Platinum trim. This is not a Platinum. The standard Platinum trim 701a and 702a is just a BAP. You can't get a non-blacked out version at these order codes. That is just weird. It is a Platinum, with no actual platinum. They dropped the applique, which is of course needed for the new tailgate, but that has been a signature of this trim since Gen 12. Then this 703 "Platinum Plus" is just a Limited. Not sure why Ford felt the need to kill the Limited brand, but they did and just cloned it into the Platinum brand. Weird.

5) The New Pricing is Actually Better: At first glance the MSRPs look like everything shot up. However, you need to price it out with your options. At KR and higher at least, my 22 Platinum optioned truck was MSRP $78k. I am getting more on these builds (TPM for instance is standard) and they are coming out at around $75k. Again, if you liked RWD or basically no options, you will pay more at the upper trims. However, if you optioned yours up like most 600 or 700 orders are, you likely will get more and still save money, in no small part because of...

6) Free Powerboost! This shocked me. All Job 1 orders at least carry a $1,900 discount for ordering a PB. The cost of a PB at 600 and 700 codes is - $1,900. Thus, you can upgrade for free to a PB AND it includes the 7.2 PPO. Even the other trims pay very little to upgrade to PB (I think it was $290 for a Lariat). Obviously, this is Ford's push for CAFE standards but it is very consumer friendly. If you look at the used market the difference in cost between a 3.5L Eco and a Powerboost is way more than $1,900 (closer to $3.5-5k) and Ford just gave that to you. This is a big win.

7) Lariat and STX Grills are solid. The STX having a great grille is nothing new. The Lariat though might be favorite this time. Since Plat is gone weird and the KR grille is going to take some getting used to, I would be inclined to order a decked out Lariat if I was to order one today.

Overall, it will take some getting used to. I don't like the lack of choice. The original appeal of the customer order based model is that you could select what was going on YOUR truck. I do feel that the deletes of 22 and 23 already somewhat destroyed the experience and this new "simpler" process finishes it off. However, I do like the new price structure - a lot. Get into build and price and compare what the build in 23 would be to 24. I bet if you have a 302, 502, 601 or any 700 - your 24 price will be better, with more options included (including a PB if you want it). Couple that with Granger going to 4% below invoice, there could be significant savings in 2024 (provided interest rates cooperate). So some good, some bad. Typical.
