I have the crappy gray fabric textured XLT interior and always liked the leather dash and door sils. Antone attempt an interior swap? Where did you source parts? How difficult was it?

I haven’t done it yet, but I’ve been watching eBay for a good set of dash panels to come along. Mine is an XL and I’ve already done Katzkins, so I just need the dash and door panels. The door panels are straightforward (there are youtube videos of it), the dash tops are a little more involved, but nothing difficult. I believe it involves removing the center display in addition to the passenger cubby, instrument cluster, side panels as well as part of the center console if you don’t have a bench seat

I thought I remember seeing someone do the swap on a single cab, but I can’t remember who it was. When I get around to it I’ll likely do a 12” display swap at the same time since it’s killing two birds with one stone

Edit: Definitely start with a nice set of Katzkins (or a brand of your liking), the leather swap makes a HUGE difference

I haven't done an interior swap, but I have done a door panel swap. The right rear door panel (it's all one piece) was damaged on my truck (XLT Sport) and I had to order a new one. My dealer quoted me $714 CAD, but I was able to find it online for $498 CAD at another dealer who sells parts online (The Truck Lot).

The door panels are easy enough to swap. The dash and the rest of the trim might be a bit harder. Wish I could help more but I think this might be a pricy endeavour.

So I'm having some trouble with part names or part numbers. Im mainly looking for the top of the dash pieces that are leather on the Lariats, but also looking for leather door trim and the stupid ugly plastic pieces at the very front of the door that are kind of angled trim pieces that comb over the sills. If the doors are all one parts inseparable, I'll abandon the pipedream.

The door panels are one piece and plastic welded together unfortunately. There's a separate cap that goes over the bolts that hold on the mirror. The Lariat top dash pieces I believe require the fully digital dash as the XLT analog/digital setup is different in shape.

Thanks for the info. I absolutely hate that. If this is part of what's to come with the 2400+ parts reductions, what a stupid idea.

I can't believe the materials they used in this 62k truck when compared to my 24k Mazda CX30 preferred. Everything is a nice leatherette in that car.

I did the swap on my 18’ STX, it’s fairly easy.. I waited to get the bigger (more expensive) pieces from EBay, then I went to my local parts counter and flipped the kid a $50 and got all the little stuff for super cheap.

i have done the dash, it takes about 4 hours
You'll need to replace the ipc with a full digital one but it’s pretty sweet . i have the parts numbers it’s about 700-800 just for those two items. Not including the ipc and the ipc bezel.

Honestly you may want to go to a dealer with a good truck selection and pay close attention to the dash materials (nothing special). Another option is to take yours and apply your own material to it. Do keep in mind it's in constant sun however. Swapping the XLT to another variant including the IPC, expect ~$2k in parts and full weekend.

HEADS UP I had a 2021 F150 XLT and also wanted to upgrade dash panels to the leather with sticthes around the edge. THE WHOLE dash has to be removed. You cant access the retaining nuts without removal. I gave up and abandoned project. I have done it in the past with trucks between 2011 and 2015. This was way above my job skill level and amount of patience involved. I bout dash panels off of ebay and ended up GIVING them to a local Ford dealer

I'm mid swapping my XL into a full Lariat interior. It's a ton of work, effort and money. The best bet on finding parts is to find a full wrecked truck and make a deal with the scrap yard for the full interior or all the parts you want in one shipment. That's what I did for most of my swap.

Here's a few photos of the process. My truck is apart right now so no finished pictures yet.

Hammaman's advise about going to the dealer to see the many different interior trims is very good. That's how i started. One example these are three different trims... why Ford does that who knows.

Did you get door wiring harnesses as well? If you want the memory function to work, you'll want those particularly with the rest of the mirrors functionality.
