Hello guys. I found this forum when searching my issues on google but not the exact problem. The posts I’ve read having similar issues while applying pressure to the brakes at lower speed. Mine does this but also at low speeds on take offs with foot off the brake. This squeeling/whining noise is driving me bonkers. It’s so loud I’m waking people up when I leave my house for work at 5am as well as homeowners near the job sites I’m working early in the mornings. It basically sounds like a very loud whine twords the rear end at low speed and when coming to a stop it’s when the brake pedal is lightly engaged. I’ve tried greasing the leaf spring area like mentioned in a previous posts with no luck. Every time I take it through a car wash the squeeling stops until the next day. I’m about to try to get it into the dealer just curious what you guys think. It sounds like a u-joint whine to me. Or leaf spring/shock noise when you push up and down. I can’t replicate this noise except for driving at low speed or lightly being on the brakes.

Issue started around 5k miles and just gotten louder and more severe since.

I’ve attached a video with the noise. Sorry it’s super windy here so the video isn’t the greatest but you can make out the noise Pretty clear. Any advice would be much appreciated guys! Last act of a desperate tortured construction worker and his work truck.

P.S - the pedestrian warning system -fake engine noise speaker is bypassed/disabled in this video.

That is not the pedestrian warning system. It’s not currently on while recording this video.

If you have the 3/4 floating 9.75” rear axle. Check to make sure that the axle bolt is still properly secured.

And another fella on here discovered his loud obnoxious squeal at low speeds turned out to be his rear rotor shield was bent in and making contact with the rotor. Metal on metal.

At least Jack the rear wheel of the ground and give it a manual turn. It'll be obvious if the noise is rotational

See your dealer.

might be the driveshaft rubbing on the heatshield.. there is a recall for it. My dealer also found a small leak in the pinion seal and repaired that at the same time. I didn't have any noise though.

While they have it, have them rotate the tires and inspect the brakes and axle bolts

Has anyone discovered what the solution was to this. I am also experiencing the same issue on my 2021 Lariat Powerboost. It's a squeal at low speeds. I can only hear it when my windows are down and I am at low speeds on a street with curbs, so the sound bounces off the curb

I was experiencing a similar sound from the rear of my 2021 PB with 49,564 miles on it. I checked all of the obvious things off the list, removed each wheel and inspected all possible rub areas including stuck calipers, rocks in dust shields, loose heat shields, etc., etc..
Interestingly, when the truck was on a lift, the sound could not be duplicated when drive line was turning, either by hand or with the motor (NOTE- this truck does some weird stuff when it's on a lift- step on the brake and the ABS and hybrid motor fight each other and the wheels DO NOT STOP turning immediately. I know a running vehicle should never be on a lift but I was desperate to figure this sound out!).
Anyway, after exhausting everything I could think of I made an appointment with the local dealer and parked it for a week.
The dealer just called me with an update: the left rear axle has "slipped out" and the wheel bearing is pushed up against the spacer, causing the spacer to spin in the axle tube, which is making the noise. Dealer must order the replacement axle, bearing(s), spacer(s) and other parts "per VIN" directly from Ford. Dealer says they won't know a delivery time frame until the order is placed but it will be "at least 3-5 business days until parts arrive, but expect it to be longer". Yay. Another frustrating experience with this truck. I would like to say a big thank you to Gene Latta Ford of Hanover, PA for being great to work with through this process2021 PB Axle Noise.

I’m having the same issue on my 2021 Powerboost with max tow package. It sounds much worse than yours.

Hey there, Alex! Can you please send me a DM with your VIN and dealer name/location so I can look into this squealing noise concern for you? I'd be happy to see what I can do to assist!

My 2022 Platinum F150 Powerboost with 25k miles is making a similar noise. It's been to the dealership twice. The first time they told me nothing was wrong and the second time they replaced the brakes. Now that they replaced the brakes the noise is worse. I am going on an extended road trip... the dealership assured me that my truck is "mechanically sound."

This is the third significant mechanical issue I have had with this truck - windshield wiper motor went out during a storm and the heat exchangers went out a few months earlier.
