ECU module programming guide using FDRS

OK, did that but how did you purchase the FDRS license? When I click on "Purchase Software License, it takes me to the IDS software licensing page where I created an account but there are no FDRS options. I'm lost....

It can be confusing.

Look for this when you get to the purchase website

Edit: For those that start on the Motorcraft website, (the correct thing to do) you create an account and then go to software section to find FDRS information. (FJDS is associated. Which can be confusing)

You get a download link as well as a link that directs you to the purchase website in the image above. (The software download itself and the license purchase are 2 different website domains, and two accounts you create. I use the same credentials for both to keep me from pulling my hair out. ??

Yes, you can download FDRS even if you haven't purchased a license yet. No, it will not open. And if you look at the image below, this is the only hint that FJDS is what we all refer to as FDRS

With no updates except for the GWM at the dealer, I'm sure this will take the better part of the weekend. Is Saturday morning the best time to initiate the FDRS license?

That was the approach I took. Bought the license Saturday morning and ran updates all day both days.

Yes, you'll have all day Saturday, Sunday, and into Monday morning too (so 2.5 days of access technically)

Not quite. He’ll have the remainder of Saturday after he buys his license, all day Sunday and all day Monday until midnight. That’s why it’s best to buy the license early in the morning on the day you intend to use it to get almost three full working days.

Friend of a friend has a 2023 in a dealership for a few weeks now trying to get "connectivity" to work.
Yea, they aren't members here and don't know about the TCU issue with some 2023's

The dealership has replaced the APIM/GWM/TCU, and is about to change the BCM ???

Anyways, when she reached out and asked if I knew anything that could help, I said "yea, tell them to stop swapping modules"

So, can anyone refresh my memory regarding?
Has Ford released the update(s) to address the 2023 connectivity issue?

I thought I read it was supposed to be released a couple of weeks ago?

I don’t remember the 2023 updates for connectivity specifically, but make sure your friend’s idiot dealer reads this SSM warning against swapping modules or taking modules out of stock before ripping anything else out of her truck:

SSM 51536 2000-2024 Various Vehicles - Errors Caused By Swapping Modules From Like Vehicles Or Ordering Modules Using Another VIN

For 2000-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, swapping a module from a vehicle for diagnosis purposes is likely to cause errors and is not recommended. It is also not recommended to order a replacement module using a vehicle identification number (VIN) from a different vehicle. Most modules on these affected vehicles are VIN/vehicle specific and hardware variations between modules do exist. Swapping a module from a vehicle or ordering a module using a different vehicle/VIN can cause ineffective repairs and additional vehicle down time. Make sure all appropriate Workshop Manual (WSM) procedures are followed when diagnosing the condition prior to all module replacements and only order modules using the correct VIN.

This was released last week 4/11/23 regarding connectivity issue's on my23 F-150

Its the 4.2.2 OTA that 2022 got.

If I were you Id leave it to OTA. See if you get one

I know this is not Sync update thread but FDRS has opened the flood gates with OTA did not even see the download but just got message so I am hoping that the OTA's will work and not have to buy the weekend license and do it every few months but it is what it is.
