I'm ready to drop the money I think on a mongoose interface cable but don't want to if Ford hasn't pushed anything out for my new APIM yet. APIM was replaced on 3/1, no updates or anything yet (of course) and APIM is on some Sync version not listed on the Wiki that is prior to the 1.7.1 update because I still dont have the horn/lights button in Fordpass. Sync version 21146 Rev 145. Willing to drop the money on the cable and necessary USB adapters/battery charger if need be but can't do much of Ford isn't pushing the update down to my truck. Dealer isn't very much help but also, No update in FDRS what can they really do?

Built 01/21 and delivered 02/21. Been in update purgatory since failed 1.7.1 in 08/21. Gotta get this damn thing fixed.

Like some others I had the APIM replaced about a week ago to solve the "can't turn on auto updates issue." Now I am at version 145 on sync and don't have any of the features I hear about from OTA's. The Ford database might be messed up, because I got notices on the FordPass app of OTA updates up to 3.5.4, but my truck did not accept them, and then I got the APIM replaced. I have tried the youtube trick to force an update three times but nothing yet.

I see PMI procedures run for the GWM, but not the APIM. Seems like the also replaced your PSCM and ran many camera and IPMA alignment procedures. They seem to have legit worked on your truck. The bulletin from Ford from 1/4 is also legit. No idea when it will be lifted. The reason for the bulletin is due to a possible issue with the IPC update needed to enable bluecruise.



Your truck is past the hump where job 1 trucks get stuck. Because detailed OTA history is only recorded for 60 days and your last recorded OTA was in October, we cannot see which one it was to determine what your last Power Up update was. That is a list of all modules on your truck that have pending updates. If you don't have an IMPA update there, it means that either it was already done via OTA, or other updates need to take place before the IPMA update will pop up on that list. It is not that black and white where we can answer your questions straight up.

You may need an IPMA calibration and not an update to fix your camera issues. The dealer can help with that.

Knocking on wood here, the truck is running well for me as of this post.

If you are on Sync 21146, there are plenty of updates for you to do including several APIM updates. I am sure someone with FDRS will post your list of module updates soon to verify.

If you are on Sync 21146 like the member above, you are not up to date but you are out of OTA purgatory and will receive an update whenever Ford decides to push one out to you. There is no OTA history on your truck....I do not see any indications you were sent 3.5.4.....I am not sure where that is coming from, but you need other updates installed before you can get that one.

Thank you so much for the info. I am indeed on 21146 but glad to hear I am not in OTA purgatory.
The 3.5.4 is a message I got on the FordPass phone app dated 1/27/23 before the APIM was replaced. I guess I will wait for Ford to push out OTAs to me.

Was in the shop again today and they replaced the battery and say they updated everything they could. Sync version still is 21146 which has not changed. They said it had a APIM error code.

I suppose time will tell what condition I am in for the long term. I think this might be 2.3.0 update. I am not certain.

Just as a follow-up, today my FordPass app tells me that update 22-PU0727-VI-FXA was installed. So it does appear I am able to get updates.

You were sent 3.5.3 on 1/24. It failed to install, but you were sent an OTA recently.

They did try to update APIM several times with no success. They did not try to update anything else, though.

21146 is still a bit behind. you do have a few updates according to FDRS
