So if you install the factory antenna, can you extend the blue over to the driver side?Much easier to to just run the factory antenna and not back up the dash.
There’s no need to do that. Either leave the glue GPS unhooked and have a coarse cellular location in FordPass, add a small splitter at the antenna or add a navigation APIM.So if you install the factory antenna, can you extend the blue over to the driver side?
Also thought it was mentioned swapping out the driver side with the one from the passenger side when you remove it. What would be left unplugged on the driver side then if you did either?
Not thinking of having it on the dash but rather sandwiched between the halves of the center trim.Much easier to to just run the factory antenna and not back up the dash.
Hmm, I don't know if I have anything of value to add, but I had a similar issue with my 2018 F-150 STX. I added the Navigation and the rep told me there was no way for them to activate the live traffic when I spoke to them on the phone. Some time later (a week, a month? I don't remember) I was using the chat function on the SXM website and was able to get traffic activated with no issue. So either it takes time to register in their system, or the first person I spoke with didn't know what they were doing.WARNING!!
I did not mention this when I said I was receiving XM should of. I was getting the Preview channel loud and clear!
Hit a major roadblock that I am trying to work around seems the Radio has not been registered by Ford with Sirius XM!! Tried subscribing online it did not like the radio ID Code. Just called now and tried to set it up over the phone the XM rep could not find it in the system!
Another hurdle? Doubt Ford will be much help.
I even was able to refresh the signal. If anyone has any ideas jump in.
Thanks for the warning…plan on checking my ACM this weekend to see if I was lucky to have a XM tuner already.WARNING!!

Update:
Called back to XM and asked to speak to tech support, She needed the Radio ID, and vin before passing me on to tech. In doing so she found my Radio ID. She still needed to contact tech support to manually enter the radio ID and Vin
Turns out before a dealer releases a vehicle to the customer, they are to provide that info to XM and have your 3 months free trial running for you on delivery. Since we are going a bit Rogue here it needs to be done as I described, or you can try explaining to your dealer what you did and why and seeing if they will do it.
She was excellent on the phone. so just keep calling till you get someone that knows what they are doing. Everything i gave her i gave the first agent.
So up and running with 3 months free.
So it sounds like it was a lack of knowledge on the first reps part. Good to knowWARNING!!

On my 2015 when I retrofitted in a ford pass tcu I left the gps antenna in the cab along the back wall. Never did have a roof antenna. It worked fine. Your idea may work well. I’m curious when we go up north to an area where we do not have cell service what will happen for me.Added those setup experiences to the OP.
I've also confirmed a working but not necessary "correct" way to fix the Fordpass location issue and TCU silent DTC. I found a junkyard antenna from a 2021 for my personal vehicle since I finally found a scenario where my center speaker grille antenna ran into a problem (driving due north in a heavy forest). I disassembled my original antenna and pulled out the GPS antenna along with its attached lead. This was connected to the truck and using double sided tape it was stuck to the top of the headliner. Surprisingly it WILL pull a GPS signal through the roof skin when stationary to give an accurate location. I don't plan on adding navigation so this works for me. Your mileage may vary with an obstructed sky due to it being under the roof skin
