Are folks seeing/hearing dealers entertain offers below MSRP? I have my eye on a ‘22 Lariat BAP 502A that has been sitting on a dealer lot for going on 40+ days. So far no movement on price.

The only thing I am still seeing is MSRP except for any Ford incentive. Usually maybe $1000 for a leftover. I hope things return normal soon but I am afraid we are seeing a somewhat "new" normal.

If you like it go in and make a lowball bid. Stick to your guns and be prepared to walk. You might hear back from them in a couple of days saying "Man you caught us at a bad time and although it is killing us, we will let it go for $xxxx". They key to negotiating is you have to be prepared to walk.

You also might catch them wanting to make an end of the month or end of the year deal to help their books. Good luck.

i would go in a offer below msrp , with 23s showing up on lots these dealers are going to want to unload 2022.

they are not going to go crazy and get 10K off but i could never bring myself to pay mrsp on any car or truck..

i agree be prepared to walk, i walked out on a 22 that dealer would not deal on and got 2500 off from another dealer... they only have the power if we let them

MSRP on truck in question is 75k. It’s an out of state dealer so reluctant to drive down if they aren’t looking to play ball. Told them they would have a sold unit if they could get me out the door <70k. I am def in a position to walk out as I have the XLT version of the truck that has been built and awaiting shipment. I don’t know if it’s been the long wait but now wishing I had the projector LED headlights and LED tails and 4Auto.

<$70k is a nice offer IMO. They may want to get it off the books for 2023 so just sit back and let them come to you. With that said maybe they will not but if you do not mind waiting again you can always hit up Granger for a 2023.

My order was price and incentive protected so I ordered in January and I and I am just picking it up later this month. (11 months) After incentives and a couple of price increases the MSRP for my truck is $73,000. I am paying $59,800. Just signed everything and picked up a 10 year 100K $50 deductible ESP with LED lights for $2520. Financed $30k for 36 months @ 0%. Nice.

If you have $70k to spend and can wait, you will get a whole lot of truck from Granger and a 75 Anniversary 2023 too. Good luck.

I was at my dealer last week and they had a beautiful Raptor Bronco in the showroom, sticker MSRP was $79,000. Then a salesman walks up and says add $30,000 to that price, they had three and two sold already. No Thanks.

The dealerships in my city are still mostly out of inventory, if they sold below MSRP; they probably would have zero trucks.

I think a lot of people that were waiting for prices to fall when things were totally ridiculous have finally started making purchases.

Unless the truck is an odd duck or out in the sticks, I wouldn’t expect much. The 2022s are usually better equipped with a lower MSRP, so the old leftover argument doesn’t work this time around.

Unless something major happens to change demand. I don’t expect much to happen until supply catches up; hopefully in 2024.

My local dealership has like 8 new F-150s and 2 Rangers with zero Mavericks and while they haven’t had a single Maverick available each time I check; in normal times, they will have nearly a hundred F-150s and dozens of Rangers.

When I ordered my truck in late 2020, they tried to sell me a brand new XLT 5.0 Supercab 4X4 for something like $9K under MSRP including factory incentives because it was the end of the month. The sales manager was angry that I didn’t buy it for that!

Good info and congrats! What’s the deal with Granger? Are they offering trucks at invoice or below? I have some flexibility but would need the vehicle by Summer of ‘23

I would offer them $70k plus tax if you really want it and make sure they have your contact info. The longer it sits, the longer they are paying on it and that may eventually change their mind.

Granger offers 3% below invoice plus dealer fees and tax on new orders. Definitely the best pricing I have seen if you are willing to make the drive. I ordered from Chapman in PA who offers 1% below invoice plus dealer fees and tax on new orders. PA is much closer than IA for me. I am ~4 hours from Portland ME (drove there recently for work) if that helps so your drive to PA would be ~7.5 hours from there.

Well if it helps the LED tails are super easy to retro. You can get a pre made harness and then just 2 bolts for either light. The LED projectors are a bit more work and cost but also can be done with custom pre made harnesses. I will tell you I have a 302a XLT and I’m rather impressed with the reflector LEDs. I put in nice bright LED turn bulbs and turned off bulb outage. That said the lariat is a nice truck and it’s what I had on order but when this XLT fell into my hands for $20k less it was a no brainer for me. ?

That’s exactly how I would build my truck
Lol. Me too. In fact, I’ve got this exact same one (minus the moon roof) ordered from Granger with a build date (scheduled) for the week of 1/9. Only difference is the price: just over $70k from Granger with the discount. I was just curious to see what they would sell this one for.
