There’s a good chance of that not happening by getting on the latest cal/update for the ecm via dealer or mongoose.
I have to agree there have been some pcm updates that I applied to my previous 2021 that substantially "polished up" the driveability of that truck. If my memory is right, there were 3 PCM updates in total over the year I had it?
Even my 2022 Job2 Powerboost has had a PCM update already.

Regardless, I believe the coldstart logic (software code) on a Powerboost is very complex. Probably has a few less than perfect possible scenarios for the driver to be puzzled with.

Spot on.

it is obvious for a wintery sub35* cold start. The start is VERY different on the 22.

are you updating with a mongoose? I want to make sure it’s up to date

From cold start, there's a possibility of a sufficient oiling parameter / timing system in place (could be for crank oil, turbo bearing oil, or any number of things including transmission). Warm on the other hand it makes no sense. Ford has beat the hell out of these engines so I'm sure they're aware of weaknesses even the slowest of us out there might not find. They do all sorts of torture testing like overheating the engine and then quickly filling it with sub-freezing coolant (more than once). If someone is able to manage that, please get the activity on video as I just couldn't see something like that happening where the rest of the vehicle lived.
