I have been waiting 5 years for reimbursement of the replacement cat converters that were covered under federal extended exhaust warranty. My truck was stranded 5 hrs away and it took three months for the replacement. They never even paid for the tow.

I escalated the complaint, but I’m sure that you’re right. I’m not expecting any satisfaction.

I’ve gone back and forth four times through the Better Business Bureau and Ford refuses to refund me for the useless prep package. I even pointed out that they were refunding the Raptor owners and they replied that I didn’t have a Raptor. I asked them if I was expected to wait 2 or 3 years for the ota updates and they wouldn’t address that.
I like the truck, but it will be my last Ford!

I know that this isn't proper resolutions, BUT are you willing to do the updates yourself to get BC?

I don’t want to spend any more than the $65,000 I’ve already spent. I want Ford to fulfill their obligation to their customers!

I totally understand what you're saying, and I agree with you on that completely. I just wasn't sure if it was a path you cared to venture.

I ventured the path you suggest.
Mostly because enjoying my truck was at risk, if I were to rely on Ford's OTA snafus.

It's true that Ford owes more than it turned out they could/would deliver. But for a few buck$ I carried their water for them and got the truck I was dreaming for.

Yea I think OP wants resolution from Ford, whether it’s a refund or BC, more than actually having BC.

Well, I’ve given up getting any satisfaction from Ford. I’ve got an appointment on 5/10 to take my truck in for the two recalls and to have them attempt getting Bluecruise operational. I’m still on 2.7.4. I feel like I’m wimping out, but we are thinking about driving from Wyoming to Louisiana and it would be nice to have the hands free option.
I hope Ford has simplified the update procedure so our only dealership doesn’t screw up my truck!

The program for installing BlueCruise has been on hold since early January, so your odds of getting the dealership to install the updates are slim. Granted, they have trouble reading any instructions, but it seems like the only ones they can read are those telling them not to do something.

I asked the service advisor about the hold and she said that she wasn’t aware of that and that they could do the update. I don’t have a lot of confidence in the dealership since they screwed up my son’s friends truck last year and he was without it for a couple months!

If it's logistically possible, I might be able to cross the Sabine and we could throw FDRS on the truck and attempt the APIM update to get you out of OTA purgatory.

Worse case scenario, if your truck is one of the ones that doesn't instantly "kick off" the USB update, you could just continue your vacation with the USB stick left in the truck.

Odds are it will eventually kick-off and you will have made the Sync jailbreak!

I'm a couple of hours away from Lake Charles, but I've made that trek just for the Cajun Cuisine.
No promises that my schedule can accommodate, but it could.
