I’m tempted on getting these for my 501A instead of the OEM BAP projector LED’s that’ll more than likely cost more than the DD headlights.
what do you folks think??

I really like the look and added lighting with the elite max, but they are going to be $2000+ for just the headlights. My guess is elite max with fogs will be ~ $2500. I’m ready to see what they cost, they look so good!

They both look great. I am happy with my 501a LED headlights, but very interested in the fog lights. I would prefer the fogs to be 3000k color though.

I think it’s possible that the OEM projector LED headlamps become more readily available as take offs and will come down in price when these headlamps are released. Because then even those people will have something good to upgrade to. I got my take off projectors at a much lower price than pretty much everything else out there, and the ones I got are mint. I only spent $1100 for the pair.

If I were you, and you’re really torn, I’d wait to see if the price of the OEM lamps comes down. Don’t get me wrong I’m sure the DD lights will be fantastic, but I am very frugal with these types of things

Diode Dynamics makes some amazing stuff. They are rather proud of that too and it shows in their pricing. Nit picky complaints aside, the DD lights are supposed to be plug/play to the BI-LED harness. Much easier than upgrading to the OEM projectors that requires an adapter harness and some Forscan coding. On top of that if you don't have bed scales on your truck the auto leveling won't work unless you add the leveling sensors all associated wiring too. Oh can't forget there's coding for them too.

I considered upgrading mine with the DD lights but the price is rather steep for me. I am curious if there's any differences in the Lariat 501A and XLT 302A Bi-LED housings.

on both the trim levels, the LED reflectors are the same.

I asked on FB and a guy from DD replied and said they'll be around $2K, and I imagine that's just for the headlights and the fogs will be another small chunk as well.
somewhat steep.. but then again pricing isn't 100% official.
also like @Porpoise Hork stated it is also a plus factor that @Diode Dynamics is going to make the headlights and fog-lights 100% plug and play as opposed to us retrofitting the OEM projectors or other aftermarket manufactures.

I just never thought I'd see the day when ANY oem F150 headlights would be considered as highend.

The top option lights, with the support for corner bending, auto-leveling, anti-glare, as well as actually having really decent lighting? It definitely raises the bar on what the aftermarket has to produce before you'd replace those.
