QQ - I have a Service Engine light and codes that I need to take my truck to the dealer for. Can I restore my original files and remove my Forscan changes without those codes clearing?

Will the codes still be present as long as I don't specifically clear them I guess may be the better way to ask it.

Thanks,

I have a 2022 - and I have not been able to figure out the reasoning or the timing of it, but every now and then I find that the driver's seat has been adjusted to the same position ( I am the only driver and operator) - my question is, even if I don't have the buttons to set memory, where can I go look to see if there is a way to set my own saved values

I could be wrong but did you set up any "profile" in Sync4?

A profile can be associated with the particular Fob, and so when I enter the truck it acknowledges "Bruce" is the driver and presets everything associated to my profile. I believe seat and steering wheel ergonomic settings are part of the profile.

My truck has a large motor in the steering wheel. Raptor does not have it. Assuming adaptive steering?

I’ll take a photo in a few, waiting for air bag system to discharge.

Really wish we were able to adjust the dampers and steering like on the raptor.
I'm guessing that on top of adaptive steering, it's a big part of the 'pro-trailer' backup funny business. Not a feature I'd use, but I've seen it in action and it looks like that motor puts in some work.

Pro trailer is available on the raptor though.

Nope... The truck is a hour away so haven't had a lot of time to mess with it, hopefully tomorrow again. Any ideas?? I almost wonder if there might be something in FDRS to try and reset MyKey? Just trying to think how a dealer might do it if you took it to them for the issue.
Update on my MyKey issues, we found out that if you put both keyfobs in the trucks, this gives you access to the MyKey menu again, then from there once I re-enabled everything MyKey using forscan, then just went in and cleared the MyKeys and now no more issues with it luckily.

Is there anything in forscan that allows you to disable reverse to park when the driver's door is open?

In my last truck (2011 Raptor) I would open the door to look at the curb while I am backing up. I like to park close to the curb when it's available.

Alright dudes, mission accomplished. Will send pics of my solution. Shocker that my first major contribution to this forum coincides with my first colonoscopy tomorrow. ?

So I went for a physical solution rather than grounding the switch-- based on ease of access and inexperience with electrical.

1. Remove top of work surface. 1a. unclip "Ford" trim piece at rear of work surface to reveal two small torx screws holding a 3in metal strip that keeps the top on the track that the thing slides in.
2. Slide the work surface top off of the front.
3. This reveal the sensor switch on the driver's side. Figure out a way to keep it depressed (depressing indicates the surface is stowed). I used pipe cleaners.

Holy crap I finally got around to doing this. Thank you so much for the info and pics. I ended up cutting the bottom off of one of those tree-shaped air fresheners and jamming it in there. No more warnings. ???

Does anyone have any clue which settings are responsible for Zone Lighting? I've tried a few in the APIM, BCM, and HCM. I've got Zone Lighting showing up in the infotainment now but the power button does nothing.

I found a couple of things today experimenting with APIM after my Sync 22228 update using the Unreal theme (7D0-02-03 xxxx xxx1 xx--). Make sure to reset Apim in FORScan (wrench tool) after changes.

If you’re concerned about the dealer having an issue with forscan changes I would not be too worried. It’s just software. If they update any modules they will just wipe out any changes you made. Then you can change back once you get the truck back.

The follow up is that I successfully restored my original files and it did not wipe out the DTC codes. So that was a good thing.

I'll note however I was looking at the DTC's before taking it to the dealer and clicked the wrong button and cleared them all !!! Thankfully I had screen shots and they register in the Ford cloud too, so they were documented.

As far as rolling back software, note that I have a Lightning and this was its second time to the shop for the same thing (didn't get fixed the first go round.) I needed no reason for them to blame me for anything. Dealers aren't familiar with the Lightning yet and all of them will look for any reason to blame the owner for the problem, because they just don't understand these computers on wheels.

Wow. Completely different. I will have to let this ride and see if I like it or not. Thank you for sharing.
