ECU module programming guide using FDRS

I got notification to update: 22-PU0727-VI-FXB. I nervously installed it and it seems to have made BlueCruise better - it doesn’t cancel when it passes an exit and seems to be better about not hugging the right side of the lane. Maybe this is a total fluke that it works and maybe I need to drive it more. But initial impressions seem positive.

I noticed that the hands free screen graphics look slightly different. It has blue lines over the entire dash screen now looks kinds nice I guess !

Looks like the last update I got updated my sync version to 22177 rev 473

@Jessdo you know where that slots in the power up tree (2.7, 2.8 etc...) and do you know what this version changes or adds?

I dont, these werent even associated with a verison. Just names. The verisons to me are pointless. They really mean nothing. They are all running on top of each otehr at this point. Plus a version would mean the ENTIRE truck is at this exact same point yet you can have 2.8.3 and have a huge list of updates still left for your truck the empsis on a verison is misplaced. They have messed this whole thing up.

I know we're all assuming that it was Oct-9 for the BlueCruise maps. Any chance it's actually Sept-10 and the map update added 3 months?

I posted about this earlier...that's exactly what the folks on the Mach-E forum are saying...that basically somebody used the date format from the EU when the update for the maps was OTA'd and they now expire on the 10th of December (10/12/2022). We would normally write that as 12/10/2022 but the Europeans write it by reversing the day and month.

You referring to connected services? If so, mine has not changed. If you are talking the about screen, that date is def euro format. But the free trial for me ends 04/23. If going by that date, its only about 6 months on mine.

Finally got through OTA purgatory and all the latest updates thanks to @Jesse-Infotainment. He went out of his way to help. Can't give enough kudos for your patience and willingness to help.

Guys, can you help me out. The Mongoose is not in my wheelhouse. @Mwathey515 just got it and has a question about set up and unfortunetly Im not familair with it. If one of you wizards could help me out this was his question.

Does it really matter when testing the Mongoose per Bobs instruction link, that it wont pull in the VIN when running a vehicle check ?

If it won’t pull the VIN, I wouldn’t attempt updates with it. That is pretty basic coms check. I would uninstall all USB related serial drivers, reboot, and re-install the Mongoose software.

Yep agreed. If you have access to another laptop might try that. Hard to believe that the Mongoose might be the culprit so a laptop seems more likely.

I’m another one of those set free from the OTA lockout thanks to @Jesse-Infotainment, but now notice that “notifications” are no longer a setting under software updates. If automatic updates are turned off, will you be notified when an OTA update is available for manual selection?

Yep agreed. If you have access to another laptop might try that. Hard to believe that the Mongoose might be the culprit so a laptop seems more likely.

I'll give that a try, otherwise I have to wait until Tues to talk to OPUS

I think the general consensus is leave the Auto-Update button off. That way the truck will still download them, but you have the choice to install them at your will, not randomly by the truck.

The GWM is scheduled for an OTA update. You should get it eventually, but no guarantees—I haven’t received it yet either. The BCM is not scheduled for an OTA update. If you want it updated, you’ll probably need to burn another FDRS license.
