Having issues with ota updates. Stuck at 2.0. Went to the dealer for a state inspection and mentioned my issues.

Here’s a pic of my invoice today
Am I crazy or is the dealer making me feel crazy?

Also there is a recall related to software issues they just ignored that. I got stonewalled.. the service guy said, talk to a salesman since this is a 21 and you have the latest updates already. Wtf! I’ve had the truck for just over a year. ?
Yep, the invoice is nonsensical. I'm having similar issues. Having to do a lot of research on my own because the dealer seems clueless: Lots of talk but little said. The did apply some updates manually but still can't turn on automatic OTA. Curiously, they don't seem to have documented the work related to the manual updates. Good luck getting your truck to a known state.

Same bull $#it I'm dealing with. I had my truck in
1. for them to tell me they didn't have the right cables
2. tell me the APIM needed to be replaced.
3. Supposedly replaced the APIM and everything was good to go...it wasn't
4. To tell me the APIM they replaced was bad, and a new one is on back order....until god knows when.

SO I finally schedule an appointment at a different dealer for 18th of August here...we'll see how far I get there...I'm not going to hold my breath though.
Going to try a different dealer as well. Good luck.

Well sh!t.... Dealer #2 took a look, and they couldn't do anything on Thursday.
Apparently Dealer #1 tried so many times, the Ford server has my VIN locked out for 20 days...or so they claimed anyway...

So now I have to wait until the middle of September to even have them try

@Jesse-Infotainment Could do a check on my VIN and see if there is anything to see...Do you use the FDRS to access the information you are sharing? If dealer #2 can't fix it, I may need to take matters into my own hands.

IMO .....give up on ANY dealership doing anything right, other than oil changes/ tire rotations.
Go with Jesse & we'll all be better off !

If Ford has your update locked due to too many attempts I don't think anyone can overcome that obstacle unless the update files are available elsewhere and the procedure can be done without the connection to FDRS cloud.
I'm guessing the few updates that are USB based are a possibility?

As the previous post points out, trusting your vehicle to the dealership these days is a higher risk for issues than doing them in your driveway. Which honestly, due to the forum, has proven to be extremely low risk if you just follow the directions that are overwhelmingly documented.

I have new issues today.. Truck went nuts when I pulled into work after a 20 min drive..
Powertrain malfunction/reduced power.
Propower unavaliable
reverse brake unavaliable
WTF!
I scheduled an appointment for thursday (first avail) at the dealer.
I turned truck off and back on.. and didnt see the error. but what the heck?
Should I hold off on going to the dealer? I dont want to end up with a ford focus to drive.

Ok. So let's say Thursday you arrive at the dealership and describe what you experienced to the clipboard holder. (service writer)
They write down their version of what you described.
You leave your keys and your truck with them and head home.

Soooooooo

What do you truly believe is going to be your truck's experience?

At best it will eventually move from where it was parked in the lot to some fellas service bay. He'll read the 1000th ticket he's read and then tell himself "hmmm, let's plug in and see if there are any codes"

There may or may not be any, and if there is they may have nothing to do with the episode that you witnessed.

If the truck doesn't present the same evidence to him as it did to you? Then nothing is going to be done. Not because of his incompetence necessarily, but rather because he's not authorized to do anything whatsoever!

It would be different if your symptoms were well known and there was historical precedent already established, and as a result the factory service system in place had documented an exact procedure to address it. This is usually in the form of a TSB or something similar.

I said all that to say that in my opinion your quandary is there's not much you can do unless/until the issue is repeatable or permanent. At this point I would write it off as an anomaly resulting in a momentary glitch in communications between one or more modules on the buss or network in the truck. There is SO much traffic on that network in a vehicle with 47 individual modules! It's amazing that it doesn't happen more often.

I truly believe something is wrong the APIM module since I cannot get updates, Jesse gave me an update USB but I've had it plugged in for weeks and nothing happened after the files indexed.
there is a DTC about a battery failure and apim.. when I plug in forscan next time i'll take some screenshots. This has been there since I bought the truck.
But, I understand how complex this truck is. That's why I am talking to you guys on the forum. The dealerships have no clue how to work on this stuff. They almost need to open up a separate Apple type store where you can take your "computer on wheels" to get worked on. I drove it around for lunch and everything was fine. Seems to be an anomaly for the powertrain malfunction.
I really, really don't have any faith in the dealerships. I sent them a long email with everything that was wrong with my visit a few weeks back, and I got no response. Ford sent me a request for comment on my visit separately and I need to fill that out as well. I just don't think It will help/waste of my time.
I cancelled my visit to the dealer.. If things get progressively worse, I'm done. If it cant be reliable, I'll just go back to my old Toyotas that are boring, and have little to no issues.. and be absolutely bored to death. haha!

I wish I had access to your truck.
I'd love to attack that APIM.

However, if you were to ever cross the border into Texas, you'd be wiser just to go straight to Jesse.

While I agree with your assessment that there's something wrong with your APIM, I don't believe it is hardware. It just needs the TSB carried out with some tenacity.

But then again, the USB could kick off today. :)

I hope this is the right thread to post this on. I tried to have Blue Cruise installed 2 weeks ago by the dealership. I was told that Ford needed to "update their servers" with my VIN to push through the update to activate it. I waited 3 business days and nothing had changed on Ford Pass connectivity. For Blue Cruise, it still said Coming Soon. I called Ford customer service and was told the dealership did not install Blue Cruise correctly. I took it back today and the dealership told me it was updated correctly.

From reading a lot of different threads, I think my whole system is stuck on some old version. I went to the Sync 4 screen in my truck. There is no software version # listed or revision #. From reading the threads, doesn't that mean that I have not had an update? I am frustrated because I had tried to time this as I am leaving for a 10.5 hour trip on Friday and was looking forward to trying out Blue Cruise.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

@Jesse-Infotainment could you please look at mine and tell me why my OTA updates are failing? Thank you. 1FTFW1E8XMKD79502
