I don’t blame anybody who bales on there order, if it doesn’t have what they ordered and wanted. My platinum high only lost the park assist, that was it. No worries for me on that small thing.

But if I was losing multicontour and massaging seats in my platinum, that would have killed it for me. Not to mention some folks are losing built in navigation and Blue cruise…I would have told em to keep it too.

Has anyone actually confirmed what is being removed?

Are we getting the usual seats with no massage function or entirely different (Lariat) seats? I'm assuming "Multicontour" refers to the seat and "Active Motion" the massage function, but the new stickers don't even specify that the seats are Multicontour.

I wouldn't put anything past Ford at this point but the idea of the seats being entirely different than the standard is abhorrent. Losing massage sucks but is tolerable to me. A Lariat seat with Platinum/Limited/Raptor badging feels wrong on so many levels.

I've seen people saying that they are the same platinum seats, with the massage air bladders replaced with foam. So we're losing the massage, not the actual platinum seats.

I have a Scheduled Production Date of Aug 05, no window, no blend ....
Ford Marketing told me that the Active Motion seat removal only applies to 501A and below. But obviously they have it noted in my online overview.

Accessories:
Multicontour seats with Active Motion® Removal

Interior:

Farley has said that they are moving to a Custom Retail Order model. Dealers will allow a few vehicles on dealers' lots that represent the most popular orders. People can drive these and custom order.

The problem is that, for the past few years, Ford cannot reliably supply Custom Retail Orders. They rely on the dealer to do their job, and continue to delete features, extend lead times, and raise prices. Making customers wait longer for an inferior product is a failed process. #FireFarley

Robert,
I am not trying to be argumentative here, but it would be nice to hear something definitive from Ford. When asked, Marketing says, Ask your dealer. Dealer says, They don't tell us. I believe my dealer.

The problem is that things change. Some say they got the feature, and others seemed to have just missed the cutoff. I believe Ford is tired of having incomplete vehicles sitting in fields and not getting paid. Their solution is to build what they can TODAY and offer minimal credits. You certainly can't get active motion retrofitted in 2 seats for $300. But Ford and the dealer get paid while the customer gets gipped. #FireFarley

My understanding is active motion is obviously the massage part of the seats. Multicontour probably refers to the three stages of lumbar support you can adjust. They must use the same system to perform their function, so maybe instead of multicontour you may end up with a basic lumbar support mechanism. My last car had a mechanical lever that I could increase or decrease a section of the seat for lumbar support.

I agree 100%. Ford should come out and explain very clearly what is being removed. All this guessing by us buyers is ridiculous. What's removed, can it be retrofitted, how to retrofit, and will parts be made available to retrofit?

Using King Ranch as an example:
'There WERE 3 options originally:
1. 10-way power adjustable leather seats
2. Multi-Contour seats with Active Motion
3. Max-Recline seats (with shoulder wings)
As options 2 and 3 are gone, KR and higher trims will get option 1 with the appropriate leather covering for the trim level. I'm not sure about lariat, but they will only get option 1 at best.

Interesting. I think the platinum only had options 2 and 3. So if we are getting option 1, with the platinum leather covering, I guess the question is what is the difference between option 1 and 2 other than the massage.

The other question is, has anyone received their truck with multicontour seat removal, and if so, post some pics. My ETA at dealer is another 4 weeks. I guess I'll just have to decide if I like the seats or not.

The difference between option 1 and 2 imo would be no lumbar support(multicontour) with number 1.

I believe lumbar in-out is 2 of the 10 ways, but only one lumbar area ?
edit: yup, from the 2022 manual:
Ford F-150 Multi-Contour Removal 3EA516FB-6D68-4AF6-B340-A4D002BCE8AB

unfortunately, the manual is written very confusingly, but if you count up the adjustments (forward-back, seat tilt up-down, seat height up-down, seat back tilt and lumbar, you get the 10 ?

Ya..that was the first to go a long time ago! We can all live without that option, but once you start removing all the lumbar and massaging options, and your seats are run of the mill…and other premium options are removed along with the seats as well, it isn’t worth paying the premiums for the big trim levels imo.

I must have just snuck in under the wire, because as I said, my seats and everything else came with my platinum, but I told my dealer before mine arrived on 6/20, if the truck arrives with lariat seats, and no navigation and/or no blue cruise, etc etc…, I will not be taking it. So I completely understand the angst/worry/frustration to see what your trucks are going to come through with/without. It sucks.
