Honestly, if your Platinum arrives and it doesn't have the seats you want? Pass on it. And re-order again. And don't remove anything from your order that matters.

Basically you are getting back in line and hoping the line is getting better at the end instead of deteriorating at the end. At some point in future, that IS going to be true. For all manufacturers.

Also, immediately on your reorder, I would start searching inventory for dealerships everywhere that don't appear to be taking advantage of circumstances. (there are plenty of fair dealers, just not enough trucks)

You might get fortunate and do your daily sweep and come across the perfect truck just waiting for you to book a flight. :)

Extraordinary times.
It takes some extraordinary approaches to overcome perhaps?

Edit: Carguru App
Currently 53 Platinum Powerboost 4WD trucks listed within 500 miles of me.
Some openly listing below MSRP

Sure, you don't know these dealerships and it will require some due diligence. But if they have the truck you want and a deal you are willing to pay, you aren't waiting months wondering. Bird in hand

yep i searched car guru near me and they are out there.
my 2021 lariat f250 was pretty comfy on long drives, it had nice wider seats than the exp.
but the multi contour ones are worth the $$ imo
my "GOAL" gets tired after a few hundred miles . so i am anxious to test mine out for a long trip

I've done some very long days in the saddle of an F150 with premium seats. Many times more than 8 hours. A few at 12 hours. And a few at 15.

Admittedly nothing more than 4 in the current 2022 KingRanch, but I did a couple of 8 hour runs in the 2021 Platinum.

My honest opinion of the full recline?
That's the least important of the attributes because I'm a side sleeper and even at full horizontal, the seats really aren't that kind of flat. The regular ability to recline is ample enough to rest/sleap on your back if you are tired enough to.

The massage?
This is the 3rd F150 in a row with the feature. And although the novelty only lasted a short time on the first truck with it, on the long runs it has absolutely extended the time between stops. I'm 6'1" 230lbs. Not little but not huge. But you sometimes don't realize how much of the discomfort you start to feel is just a lack of circulation. The way the massage is really a rolling motion, it gets your circulation going again and the relief pays dividends. I don't need it often and in some ways think I could live without it. But on the first day I am wanting it as described? I'd miss it sorely. ?

As for aesthetics, if the delete meant you aren't getting the beautiful shaped seats with the current shoulder blade wing that adjusts independently? That'd be a real shame. They are nice looking seats to the eyes.

you know it
i dont have the recline flat seats, but i couldnt sleep in the truck anyways, last time i slept in a pickup was darlington around 1997 infield to drunk to notice seat comfort.

i really like the massage your "goal" part and the lower back
my svelte frame of 6'3" 245 lbs appreciates the comfort, so far

Dude! I just logged on to cargurus and saw a number of platinums out there. Thanks for providing me with a fourth option.

It would be fantastic if you find a truck that you really would be happy owning, and completely avoid the angst of special ordering in the current circumstances.

If you do, let us know!

Lightning Reserved, 2022 Platinum on Order
Just found out that the activemotion seats were removed on my order... needless to say, I am beyond pissed.

The primary reason I ordered a platinum was to get these seats. I didn't / don't want power running boards, and everything else could have been optioned on a lariat for thousands less. Reasonably expected to see this truck in April.

Want to back out of my deal? not so fast -- amongst the 15+ dealerships that I've searched through, not one has a lariat in stock with Bluecruise... or even just a v8/Powerboost with the 360 cameras. Found one platinum, but they're a-holes to deal with, and want ADM / forget xplan.

That sucks…. And my fear is I may be in the same boat. What was your blend date? Is your truck on chip/plant hold? I also ordered a platinum with a build date of 4/23 but it’s on plant hold until late July (supposedly).

Blend date is today actually... still remains to be seen whether I'll have a plant hold to follow I guess?

I haven't seen anyone say they received a platinum with the "mutlicontour seat removal" to confirm, but I've seen multiple people say this is supposed to be only the removal of the massage feature. The air bladders are replaced with foam. I'm still holding out hope that it's only missing a chip that can be put in later.

Hope you don’t especially since they are removing features.

The massage seats are a nice to have but not a deal killer for me. I know a lot of others have long drives and it really helps. But, when you start picking away at all the “nice to haves” (max recline, Navigation, active assist etc.) it starts to be where it’s not worth the money. I know I don’t have to accept it but having to wait until it gets here to find out is ridiculous. Dealership is saying they no nothing and ford CS has not been any help.

I have a Platinum AMB with BAP that was built on the 27th and has the multi contour seats. I’m not talking delivery of it since I bought a Raptor. I’ll sell it to someone for $1000 under MSRP. ?
I’m actually serious about this. I would be willing to work out a price that gets someone in a truck they want. If I don’t take it, the dealer will just add their standard 2-5K ADM to it.

I have another order also, but the multicontour seats were removed from it. Though, adaptive steering wasn’t removed and it was only built 4 days after.

Unfortunately it’s not a module. My guess is that the supply chain for the seats includes Ukraine, which supplies a lot of wiring harnesses for US auto manufacturers. Or it could be due to COVID lockdowns in China.
