I really hope we get to keep the multi contour part. Most of the reason I moved up to the Platinum was the design of the seats. I would like the active motion, but I need the multi contour or I'll probably just find a older used Platinum. Maybe I'll just keep my 2009 Lariat. I'm only at 239K on it.

No, it's not an overreaction at all. When you order something and pay that much for it, you expect to get what you ordered. I ordered that trim level specifically for that function and it was stripped away and I was given a $300 refund. That is not enough for making the truck effectively a lariat. If you order a steak, you don't expect a burger and get it for $1 cheaper to make up for it.
I don’t disagree with you. Active motion seats had me considering a higher trim. Ultimately opted against, but I’d be pissed if I made the decision in that basis and then this happened.

That said, Lariat is definitely a cowboy ribeye in this scenario, not a burger.

Have ordered a 22 Platinum window sticker says those seats have been removed. Thats the whole reason why I ordered the Platinum to get those seats. Truck is scheduled to be built on May 25th.

Just got a updated window sticker that has the multicontour seat removal credit removed and my msrp price has gone up by $300 does that mean I have the massaging seats again.

I almost went with a Platinum, and I have to say it was primarily for the seats. It certainly wasn’t for the big tailgate badge. The 300 seems insulting considering the difference in price between a Lariat and Platty.

I am trying to figure out where this $300 number came from? Is that all they paid for the options to put in the truck? or is the $300 some random number someone came up with that thinks thats all its worth. Personally I think the parts that are removed cost for more than the $300 and they are making money ontop of removing these features.
When I called Ford to bitch about this they said $300 was the full cost of the parts. To the comments earlier, this is BS. They bake in parts costs and labor costs and there’s no way $300 covers all of that…which means those of us that ordered a platinum are still paying some amount for the multi-contour seats and not getting them.
Ford won’t do sh*t and says to talk to your dealer, yet the dealer has literally NO power either. Mine spoke to the Fors regional head who basically said “too bad, deal with it or wait for a 2023 and pay a ton more.”
This is my first Ford, I went away from Toyota b/c of the mark-ups and this is already making me want to go back in a few years. Worst customer service I’ve probably ever experienced.

Wow wouldn’t that be nice? Maybe that told everyone they’d lose it and those lucky enough to get built while parts are still available will get it.

Consider yourself very lucky. I too had my VIN a month in advance of the Active Motion cutoff, signed no amended order form regarding that, and lost my seats. That was the only reason we chose a Platinum over a similarly equipped Lariat.
I keep checking my window sticker daily with the hope its added back in, but as of yet, no luck. My build date is next Sunday, 6/5.

Nobody has paid $xx, xxx.xx for a vehicle that hasn't been delivered.
You might have ordered steak and they brought you hamburger. But you still get to make the call.
So once the truck arrives and you look it over and decide the seats that Ford shipped it with are not tempting enough to sign on the dotted line.... Then don't.

And I wouldn't blame you either way.
(nor do I blame anyone for the need to rant)

I wouldn't buy anything that is going to irritate me enough to ruin the ownership experience.

Still, Ford isn't alone in the struggle to deliver what the consumer desires.

I have a Platinum AMB with BAP that was built on the 27th and has the multi contour seats. I’m not talking delivery of it since I bought a Raptor. I’ll sell it to someone for $1000 under MSRP. ?

True. Problem is the alternative is to absorb multiple price increases since your order date probably adding $3k-$5k to your price. So you’re option then is to basically pay that much for multi-contour seats which is ridiculous.

Ford needs your seats and other de-contented items for Lightning orders.

Every manufacturer's EV rollout is taking precedence. 110K Escalades have lost supercruise, while the 60K Lyric will have it (although not turned on at delivery).

Conjecture.
Possible, but we have no documented evidence.

Fair enough ...

Was the Platinum Lightning reserved with the all the same basic features of the ICE Platinum? (I honestly don't know, I don't have a Lightning order).

Has the Lightning had anything de-contented or has any res holder or dealer been told they will be omitting features originally included in the reservation ?

Not being argumentative, I'm honestly asking. If the answer is yes and no, then it seems there is a some anecdotal evidence. Now if the lightning platinum wasn't even offered with auto park/massage seats/special (non Lariat) leather/ Led Cupholders etc.. then I agree it's nothing but conjecture.

I was mainly parroting what a GM dealer told me when I was speaking to him about the Lyriq.

I did research between Chevy and Ford and went with Ford after 25 years because of the conveniences of the KR/Platinum (I started with KR and then switched to Platinum) fit my goals (and by "goals" I mean my "fat ass"). It was the seats that got me to go up from the Lariat. The other upgrades are nice, very nice indeed, but the seats were the clincher. (I tend to drive distances where circulation is an issue, also I would like to pull over and take a nap.) So I placed the order on 5/1/21 (not a typo) and have waited and waited and waited. Yes I switched to a 22MY, and I have watched countless members here on this forum get their Platinums way before me even though they orders way later.

It took forever to get my dealer to move on this. Finally this April he had worked with Ford for a long time to get this moving. Finally we removed the features that were causing the problems, but he left the seats alone knowing that they were the reason for his sale. Since then, the Ford notice went out. I have not heard from my dealer on this issue. Nothing. My build date is 7/18, way later than most on this forum.

I would not have selected the Platinum if those seats were not an option; I would have gone for a Lariat. So what are my options? 1) Take the truck that Ford tells me to take, but not the one that I chose to fit my needs, 2) Cancel my order, order the Silverado, and experience the GM version of this nightmare, 3) Drop down to a Lariat and pay the higher price for a trim level change, 4) Give up and go for the Platinum Lightning (I have a reservation with reservation number around 120,000). I can't think of another option, other than writing one of my epic letters to the CEO, Board of Directors, and everyone else including the competition and media. But with the climate, I don't see that it would be successful.

I think your questions are valid.
But concerning the Lightning, at this point anyways, Ford isn't building them in any quantity that even remotely compares with the ICE F150. Ford reported 50,000 F150's were special ordered in March alone. That's north of double the number of Lightnings for the entire 2022 model year.

But where I suspect you are getting warmer with your accusations is that Ford is probably very committed to protecting the launch of the Lightning. To the degree that more commitment and resource planning was allocated to those 20,000 trucks than the 500,000 ICE F150's for model year 2022.

Having said that, I doubt they are robbing parts on the assembly line in either direction. I don't think it works that way regardless of appearance.

Joe's Platinum Powerboost didn't get his build interrupted so Bill's Lightning could get Joe's sweet multicontoured seat massages.
