Don't like the dump truck backup sound nor the hovering flying saucer sound. Ford should have given you options like: 1) Hovering flying saucer 2) Low rumble of a V8 or 3) 430 Horses pulling a wagon down the street. JMO.

I’m close to capping my speaker off. I do like the backup chime, but hate the flying saucer. Many times it sounds like a bad rotor or pad scraping. I can’t selectively delete the rotor sound and leave the chime. I hate aftermarket beepers, and white noise buzzers sound like crap. Ugh.

I'm now soooo quiet now! Love it, I am extra cautious now in parking lots and residential streets with a lot of parked cars. So much better.

I have no clue why but I can't hear any flying saucer sound. I hear the backup beep but that is it. I'm going to have the wife drive it by me so I can hear it... Or maybe I have some special version without it!

Have her drive slowly away from you about 50 yards and then back towards you in electric mode. Or roll your windows down and drive 10-15mph on a neighborhood street. You should be able to hear it pretty good. My neighbor also has a PB and I can hear him from about 4 or 5 houses down as he's heading my way. I told him to come here and get one of these PSDs, but he said he doesn't mind being a UFO.

I'm the same way. I hear a muffled beeping sound when reverse, but hear nothing when rolling forward.

We just got back Sunday from camping up in GA for most of last week and being able to drive silent through the campground was awesome. Not only backing up, but also going forward. Even had some folks ask if the truck was electric as we passed them while they were walking dogs. I can't even imagine the looks if the thing was droning and going bong bong bong every time we needed to move the truck.

UGADawg, you make me depressed after seeing those pictures.
We just got out of our last camper after a horror story with a crappy build. We’ve camped for 25 years. I’m afraid the wife will never go back after this last one. Thanks for sharing. I always loved camping and miss it after only a year. It’s so relaxing, and it’s fun talking trucks with other campers. Would’ve loved to entertain PowerBoost hauling discussions around the campfire. Happy trails!

Hi Guys, so I wanted to bring some information to this thread. There now is a sort of workaround in forscan, however you still have to unplug a module. Its unknown though whether or not the dealer will see this in their scan tools though but in forscan the module shows up as ERROR but doesnt throw any codes.

On that note, I will still be providing my kit because the feedback I was seeing about the forscan method was turning a lot of people off because its harder to do than installing my bypass kit. And it also appears a lot of people prefer to just have a plug and play device vs messing around in forscan & unplugging a module that could potentially raise eyebrows at the dealership.

This also leads me to announce a Gen 3 version that will be coming out soon this spring that will have some added features as well and is installed inside the cab! I will make an announcement once prototyping has completed. I think you guys will love this next generation of bypass!! :D

NEW PRODUCT COMING: PACM SPEAKER BYPASS KIT GEN 3

Here is the video of the forscan and module removal tutorial: Bypass Video

EDIT: also, I will be providing a list of OEM parts that I will be using for my Gen 3 bypass kit just like I provided the OEM part numbers for the crimp terminals and connector housing for those that prefer a DIY approach!
I'm about to order the Gen 2 but will wait for Gen 3 if you think it will be in the next few months. Don't want to do the work twice. Do you have a mailing list we can join to be notified when we can order Gen 3?

Just installed mine. Easy install and performs just as everyone else said it did. Might switch it for a gen 3 if that product comes out, but for now I'm enjoying the silent operation....and my neighbors enjoys not hearing the bong every morning at 6 AM.

Just coming across this thread now. I am 100% ordering a Gen 3 when it's ready.

I don't know what's worse. Waking up the neighbourhood when I back out of my garage at 5am or everyone staring at me, wondering about the UFO sound as I drive down the street. People will be in their front yards doing yard work or talking to a neighbour and they literally stop what they're doing and turn around to see what the noise is. It is very loud. Maybe it's quieter on newer builds? I think mine's a Job 1 build. Who knows... but it's annoying.

I think I got lucky. My backup is not that loud (no way it can be heard inside the house, even with the windows open, much less wake anyone up) and No one looks at me when I drive by in all electric mode. I've tried listening for the IFO with my window down and I can barely hear anything.
