Opening the door during engine on or accessory power would not likely trigger a module to shut down. Now if you killed the motor or shut off accessory power, it's the door opening that triggers the module(s) shutdown process.

But tell the truth...... Did you hold your breath?

100%! Held the breath and took the chance...I suspected it wouldn't impact anything, but you just never know and would rather ask around.

I wonder if my truck has a similar problem. Nothing happens when I press the camera button while driving. Bed camera works and hitch view seems to work though. Very strange.

Yeah that is strange. I'm guessing this can be fixed/adjusted with FORScan, but have yet to try. Have you fiddled with that yet?

I did the whole process with my door open with no errors. Only time I closed my doors was for the restart required sequences.

You did a fantastic job! This was a glitch on fords end. Not his fault.
Just another example of why dealers are not equipped for this update. It take a very specific set of skills. Ha ha. Not the kind from the movie taken but the kind that a guy like me has no life and does nothing g but this all day every day.

situations like island boy and the cluster files not loading would beIMPOSSIBLE for a dealer to over come.

In the beginning of my upgrade process to BC I was having problems getting USB updates to complete after the message to turn off, then on, the truck. When I reread some posts it was suggested to turn off the truck, get out, shut the door and wait 10 minutes before getting back in and turning on the truck again. After I started that routine my USB updates worked every time to completion.

Hey guys, been lurking around for a while and would just like to report my success here. I'm not sure if I was lucky but I was using a old Drew tech mongoose for honda, not the new opus mongoose. I did the 1.7.1 fix with adaptors and did all the updates. The only issue I had was I bricked the abs unit and the whole truck didn't start but had ign. Had a purple box in the abs, big shout out to @Jesse-Infotainment for helping me fix that. I believe FDRS only downloaded one file and was missing one other file. He sideloaded my original and it was back to normal. Had that restart loop at the GWM but I just yanked the battery and got over it. Everything went pretty quick except the ipc which was 4hr 10min.

I don't recommend anyone using other then the approved cable. I just use my honda mongoose as a test to see if it can do anything at all since I have it already.
