ECU module programming guide using FDRS

I'm an XLT with non-bluecruise and non-360. I'm stuck at 244 and have been for at least a month (after doing my initial updates via the nano.). I got my mongoose over a week ago, applied a few updates, but have not been presented with any additional updates to move beyond 244. My VIN is 1FTFW1E86MKD74376.

Someone in a different post mentioned their IPC has a F120 line in addition to F188. I've only got F188 so I'm wondering if my IPC has some sort of issue that's preventing me from getting any further updates.

Are you looking in FDRS or in the widget. Sometimes in FDRS the F120 shows up in the chart, and F188 shows in the data below it when you click on the module.

ok I think you and I are in the same boat. Same model and trim levels. I think the higher trim models are getting more updates for Sync than we are.

Hopefully that's the case. I feel a bit better knowing I'm not the only one with this configuration of truck that's not getting further updates.

So @Jesse-Infotainment, what do you think? Should I start my next round of updates?
I do have the mongoose so all should go well there. I'm cheap too so I only do the 2-day license but dedicate all my time to it.

Also, was there ever a conclusion on whether FORSkin updates affected the outcome of FDRS updates, especially in the IPC?

FORSkin? lmao. Some people were affected by FORScan changes in the IPC, IPMA and APIM and it is advised to revert back to allow for a smoother update and to avoid configuration mismatches. The choice is yours...

I just looked in FDRS and our truck software part numbers are identical except for PCM but that maybe due to us having different engines. I have a 5.0L

I’ll have to look at the 8” cluster to see what the most up to date versions are. That could be the same as what ajz was having the cluster didn’t show up to date preventing the next round of updates.

all i see is your GWM update as well. however, once updated, other updates will likely show up

Any tips on how to get past the GWM update. I go through the update process and even the USB update says complete on my radio screen but never clears on Fords side.

are you leaving the laptop connected and in the update mode while it does this?

FDRS will ask "was the update completed?" but don't click yes until the truck says complete. once that happens, FDRS will have you turn the truck off, on, and then validate the modules, then send the data to Ford that says its' good to go.

if you don't do those steps, then it will take a bit for your module information to make it back to the mothership.
