I EXPERIENCED THIS SAME THING THIS WEEKEND, WE DROVE 3 HOURS FROM THE NC MOUNTAINS TO THE UPSTATE IN SC AND NOTICED THAT THE AIR FLOW WOULD CHANGE AND IT WAS OBVISOULY "FRESH AIR" BUT THE RECIRC BUTTON WAS STILL ON. I AGREE WITH THE OUT SIDE TEMP THING AS WELL, MY WIFE HAS A 2021 FORD EXPEDITION AND IT SEEMS TO BE DOING THE SAME THING. IT MUST BE A FORD SETTING AND ITS VERY ANNOYING.As we were driving from RVA to JAX today, it started off in the 40s F. Same issue, recirculation would only stay on for 5mins. Once we made it into the Carolinas, the outside temp raised to the 60s F. At this point, the recirculation light stayed on and never turned off. It seems it is related to outside temps being "cold" even though we had the AC on too. However, as we made it into GA and it was in the 70s, even though the recirculation light stayed on, we could feel it turning it off and on automatically even though the light never went off. So it appears there are two behaviors for it.
