I think you have to forget your phone in the carplay/bluetooth/etc setup settings and plug it in only to force your phone to be on WIRED carplay.
Will this completely disable wireless CarPlay?

Disabling wireless app projection from the truck side is another way to do this.
I’d still like to use wireless CarPlay on my shorter trips just because it’s a little more convenient not taking my phone out

my method can be turned on and off from the head unit. if you don't allow it from the phone side, you need to remove and re add the connection every time you want to go wireless ( unless you want to use bluetooth as your wireless option for short trips).

Yes, until you set it back up to be wireless. As far as I know.

Yup happens in my Bronco every time I use the on / off ramps by me. Clearly something governmental uses the same frequency that wireless CarPlay is on.

I’ve suspected some kind of transmitter device coming from the light rail but could be a number of things like police communication relays, emissions testing, or there is also a hospital not far from where it cuts out for me.

I got a quick reply from the FCC complaint... It seems like their response boils down to "deal with it."
If you're willing to put forth the effort, most cellular providers have a department that handles interference. I know when I worked with Verizon Wireless that there was a way to send someone out with a truck and some fancy spectrum analyzers to track down the source of the dead spot. (They were SUPER serious about their "best" network.) If your phone loses cellular connection, not just wireless connection, it could be worth looking in to.

Yep
My truck started to randomly drop android auto with and without the cable plugged in. I got fed up with it and went to uninstall Android Auto (AA) from my phone. I realized there was an update for the AA and once I installed that, it has not dropped again. This includes the random and consistent spots. Good Luck!

Both of my phones - Samsung and Pixel - lose wireless connection with the latest version of AA.

There is a spot when you cross a bridge on 94 heading N by St. Cloud. Never ever fails and it doesn't matter if I'm heading N or S. I don't get it.

I get this same Android Auto "connection lost" message at the same exact location every time: Cleburne, Texas entering or exiting the town on the south side. One mile later I can reconnect Android Auto in the phone setup menu by clicking the AA arrow. If there is a quicker/easier way to recover this lost connection please let us know.

As someone who lives in the Milwaukee area, I also have issues in that exact same spot as well as on 94 by the State Fair Grounds.

Also, I noticed you said it's fine when plugged in but when my phones plugged in, I get disconnected in the same spots. Is there something I need to do to make sure I'm not using wireless CarPlay while plugged in?

I know it's about a year late, but I'm also seeing this same spot by the State Fair Grounds.

I was mistaken that my phone would stay connected; it dropped either when plugged in and using wireless, or unplugged and using wireless. I wish Apple supported both connections concurrently as a fallback...

Mine does the same thing at the same 2 off-ramps 99% of the time during my daily commute

Surprisingly, I haven’t had dropped connections anywhere around the Milwaukee area for nearly 9 months now. I’m guessing one of iOS updates and/or an OTA update to the truck fixed it for me.

I’ve also upgraded to a 16 Pro Max since that comment but I doubt the fix would’ve been a hardware issue on older iPhones.
