Hummm, you're "dying to do this" but only want to do it with one adaptor? The adaptors (both of them) come with the lights so I'm not sure what the problem is. You're not paying for two adaptors. Just do both sides and you'll be happy. If you can do one side, you can do the other. It's not hard and not any more expensive.

These adaptors do NOT come with it. You have to buy them at 35 bucks each.

Thanks for the reply. At this point, I'm not sure what is meant by "adaptors". I thought you were talking about the connectors. My side LED's didn't come with an adaptor. It came with the lights, wiring, and connectors, which is all that was needed to connect it all together.

I finally tacked this today. What a PITA. Even with the vent on the table, Working on the led sucked. I ended up knifing off the melted tabs so I could remove the grill completely. This was totally worth it for me. Was able to clamp the leds in place over night and worked great. Simply put the grill back in place and remelted the studs with a hot knife.

I ran both leds off the drivers lights with the adaptor I listed above. Worked great. Ran the wire through the wiper cowl. Would have been cleaner if I ordered another adaptor, But those things are a ripoff. I may suck it up and order another one further down the road if the wire routing bothers me.

Man. I may quit my day job and just start making adapters. I didn’t know so many people are scared of wires, lol.

It’s funny, I just soldered two pigtails to my neighbors VW headlights so he could easily plug in resistors for led bulbs. Looked very similar to the above.

I know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but soldering a few wires is way easier than 90% of the mods on here.

I'm with you 100% Normally, 90+% of the time I solder everything. In this instance, Its brand new and has a warrantee. I also had an option where I didn't need to modify any wires. Plug and pay is so nice when available, just have to pay for the convenance.

For instance, I'm working on adding a circuit that will turn on the bed lights whenever I open the tailgate. 1 connector I cant get at all in a male gender and the other is a 50pin main connector. Not worth the time. So I will have to tap in and solder. Is what it is. It will get soldered, Dielectriced and adhesive heat shrunk. Not going to be a problem down the road.

Post details on that when you do it.

I understand not wanting to mess with wiring unless necessary. Sourced connectors and pins to build my own wiring harnesses on my bike for that reason.

Could likely order the connectors and build same as listed on that website for under $35. Depends on the source though sometimes connectors are $12 without a bulk order.

Just wired up my ambient side vent lighting. Terrible instructions for F150Leds, they had no instructions for the led headlamp wiring. Thankfully I found a guy on here with the proper wiring colors. See attached.

Looks great, I wired up as per colour codes but for some reason mine are flashing...any ideas?

Definitely not scared of wires and I can solder pretty well. I am just not a fan of tapping into wires and then - God forbid something happens with the electronics in these trucks, and we all know they do - Ford will tell me "sorry, the warranty on your $60+ vehicle is voided because you sliced into wires".
