Wiper Recall is back.

Got one recall notice quite some time ago.
recently during an unrelated service visit, the dealer I visited ordered
the part to address the recall.
within a week or two of that visit, I got another recall notice by Ford.
I would imagine that the dealer I recently visited will contact me when the parts are available as my last visit there for a funky window, the service advisor mentioned the wiper stuff had been ordered.

This particular dealer is not the one I bought the truck from, but they have been pretty good at getting me in and out for little things on a Saturday.
They seem to be attempting to build some faith after the more than dismal dealings I’ve had with them on my old Ranger. (Took it in for what I supposed to be a stuck caliper—-3 brake jobs later in 10,000 miles-truck still had under 30k on it—it created a hazard again on a long trip. Took it to a Lincoln dealer in Las Vegas and they found a stuck caliper. New rotors, pads, drums and shoes and never another brake issue until I replaced them again at 130,000.)

Mine is an April 14, 2021 build and nothing YET...that could change.

The wiper motor recall was expanded to MAR 23, 2021 - AUG 08, 2022 build dates. Kanuck looks like your safe for now..

Safety Risk
AN INOPERATIVE WIPER MOTOR HAS THE POTENTIAL FOR REDUCED VISIBILITY OR LOSS OF VISIBILITY IN CERTAIN CONDITIONS, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy

Mine only showed up on the web dashboard portal. Not in my FP ap.
I’m not going to worry. Might go away over night by the aliens in the mothership.

I wonder if maybe the replacement motors used in the original recall were found to be defective as well? A recall of the recall so to speak. Anyway, that sucks to have to go back a second time!

I stumbled this recall in Ford.com Tuesday. I looked around in FordPass but don't see it. Not sure it will show up in there?
Interestingly (to me anyway), albeit not on this thread subject, in Nov. 2022 I received an "Important Safety Recall" in the mail for Compliance Recall Notice 22C22/NHTSA Recall 22V686. "Park/position lamp on your vehicle may flicker". Software to repair this issue is estimated to be available January 2023. Call your dealer in or after January and request a service date for Recall 22C22".
Recall 22C22 doesn't show up in Ford.com or FordPass.

If you read into it, the current failure rate is 2.3 per 1,000, but modeling suggests it's a 5% failure chance in 150k miles.

What is Aquapel - Aquapel Glass Treatment

I use the rainx wiper fluid -- I 'clean' the windshield (hit the wiper spray) at least weekly if it's not needed more often. No reason to waste time on doing the dedicated treatment.

Does it say what build dates are affected?

The expanded recall covers build dates from March 23, 2021 through August 16, 2021. But it isn’t in the owner notice.

Unfortunately, this isn’t really new. Ford notified NHTSA last November that it was expanding the recall. Following its usual excellent efforts at providing timely information, owners are only now receiving notification directly (and that parts won’t be available until Q3).

Here is what Ford provided to NHTSA beginning Nov. 15. The supporting documents discuss why the first campaign, which ended with the March 22 build date, was insufficient:

Dam! my build date was March 25th trucks built after March 23rd 2 days! so I've been recalled. Wish the truck had been built 3 days earlier!
