I upgraded from a vanilla 2010 XLT to a high-tech-even-on-just-the-XL 2022 truck, and a couple of things strike me as odd:
1) Why, if I use the ignition key to unlock the driver's side door, does the truck insist I crank the engine (it threatens to sound the alarm if I do not)?
2) Why can't I leave the darn thing in neutral, or move it to neutral, without cranking the engine? I used to be able to shift my (old) truck into neutral in order to push it a couple feet in the garage to get it out of the way and then push it back into place. No longer.
Both these things strike me as needlessly cumbersome and utterly without benefit ...
And since I'm asking: I've seen an XLT video that shows a USB connector inside the center console on the passenger side. On my XL, there's a plastic cover. Does anyone happen to know if there's a (powered) USB connector under that cover?
Thanks, and sorry if that kinda dragged on.
