So even though it doesn’t list it, does it actually have them though? Ie can you do the 360 view when backing up, see the front bumper view etc?
Mine just comes with the back up/trailer cam plus the radar sensors, lane catering, blind spot monitoring etc… aka Co-pilot assist.

If I added the 360 2.0 Active package (future autonomous driving?)… that would have included the 360 cams by default but I didn’t order that one. Maybe that’s what the other posters are referring to…. but the Assist package and Active package are not the same thing.

I agree they’re not the same thing, but Assist is supposed to require the cams as well, it does on every other package/trim and even says it on the description.

Here’s the description of the Assist package saying it requires the cameras, yet evidently only on a 502A it includes Assist without it.

I also agree that Assist 2.0 and Active prep are 2 Seperate things. I am not interested in autopilot so to speak. Just want my Assist 2.0 to work when truck arrives.

On both the Ford.com and Ford.ca websites, the 360 cams are an add-on so they aren’t included with the 502a trim. They need to be purchased above and beyond. Now, if my truck magically shows up with 360 cams, I will be thrilled.

So the features just won’t work then for those of us that mistakingly ordered without the cam package? I’m good with Ford putting the cams on and charging me for the package. Just would love to know that ahead of time.

Hopefully the dealership can get these added to my order and I’m all worked up over nothing.

Even a 500A or 501A, if you try to add the Assist package, adds the cameras for you. I’m going to just chalk this up to an issue in the ordering system and going to say your truck will come with it all.

For the longest time the only way to actually add a PowerBoost engine to an XLT was to add 4x4 first or add the transmission without the engine (Which would then require the engine). If you just tried to add the engine to a 4x2 it would sit forever spinning and not actually add it.

There’s also some other weird dependency between features that the dealer’s system has that the config tool doesn’t because when I ordered my truck they added the Tow Technology package and said it had to be there, something else I wanted was requiring it, even though I could build the truck just fine without it online.

That is how I would think it’s suppose to work. But I have a copy of the dealer build sheet. And it’s not in list of packages. So I guess we will see. Hopefully the assumption of it automatically adding because it’s required is a correct one. But I would think my dealer would see that and tell me there was an added up charge for a required package.

Very weird. Even if it’s not included, everything in your Co-Pilot Assist will definitely function, that much I’m sure of. They definitely wouldn’t literally sell you a package that can’t do what it’s supposed to because it’s dependent on another. Maybe this is some weird loophole where you can magically get Assist without the 360, but if it’s including Assist it will definitely at least do everything that Assist is supposed to.

I believe the camera used for the lane centering is up by the mirror, not the one that comes on the grill if you get the 360, and I don’t think the ones on the side mirrors are used for anything Co-Pilot related, so they probably can operate independently.

That makes sense. And makes me feel better. Anyway thank you all for your time and have a happy 4th!

Hmm- good points. I was wondering how the lane centering would work without side view cams. Having said that- lots of vehicles have lane assist without cams no? Hope you are right!

Pretty sure they’d need to have cameras somewhere. I don’t know how else it would detect the lane markers seeing as they’re just paint. Not much radar would be able to pick up on for that.

I would think the camera below the mirror would pick up side markers, if it relied on the side mirrors it would be too late to correct or at the very least jerky and twitchy

I believe that’s what they use for the lane centering/lane departure, yes. Same with Subaru on their system, it’s all up by the mirror.

Lane assist is done by the camera behind the rear view mirror.

The '21 F-150 packaging guide brochure says the 502a package includes Co-Pilot 360 2.0. Here are pics from the brochure. I got this when I ordered my truck. The dealer had it when we were building mine & I brought it home with me.
