Had my Lariat Powerboost Hybrid 4x4 for less than two days, and I LOVE IT! Drove it from Metro Detroit to Northern Michigan last night (250 miles) and I'm not sure I stopped grinning at any point. I expect there will be some type of issue with a new model year, and the amount of tech, but I am beyond happy with the fit/finish/ride of this beast...

That red looks nice against the sunlight!!! I assume this is Race Red?

I have never owned a truck...ever. But, my family has many of them I’ve driven from time to time. I always thought they were too big, as I like to *drive*. As in Mustangs! Plus, wife didn’t wanted to look like a hillbilly driving a big old truck.

For family cars, we’ve had Explorers, Mountaineers, Aviators. But...we made the decision this year to see the USA by RV. The current explorer was 8 years old with 180k miles. Ran great, but wasn’t going to pull the RV we wanted. So, reluctantly we started looking at trucks. As I read more and more about the 2021s, I admit I started to drool a bit. Really wanted the hybrid, but they weren’t available when we were ready to pull the trigger in Dec. Took the wife to test drive a ‘hill jack’ King Ranch. I don’t need to tell you she and I were hooked! This...thing...is...amazing, we stared at each other! What were we thinking all these years?! The back seats....I mean, WTF?! It’s like limousine spacious back there! I tell people it’s not a truck...it’s a giant luxury barge. The ride and comfort are simply unbelievable. My family...truck veterans, all of them, are aghast and are ready to trade theirs in for the ‘21.
The versatility, the power, the luxury! We ended up with a Lariat and love it. My image conscious wife loves ‘stealing’ it from me and showing it off to her friends and they can’t believe it, either.

we’ve liked our previous cars, but we’re fools in our thinking of what modern trucks could be. This thing is a statement by Ford.

All that being said... I still like to drive. This truck is great but it’s no mustang :). I’m not a fan of the giant, school bus-like, turning radius. But, it has made a convert out of me. For sure.

I drove over 300 miles to get what I wanted. ( short bed &Regular cab, V8 of course) dove it home & got the Best millage that I ever had. Considering that I owned 4 Ford pickups like this configuration. Very happy with it.the power from this coyote engine is superior! The acceleration, feels like an old muscle car. Fuel mileage so far is 22.4 expressway & 16.2 city. I got the XLT with the 301 package . It has enough features to keep me interested.

Actually its the Rapid Red, the sunset in the pic just makes it look a little more orange.
Okay, thanks for confirming that! You're probably right about the lighting. It does seem to make the truck appear to be Race Red instead of Rapid Red. But still, nice color!

Overall, I am quite happy with the truck. For $60K, I want to be extremely happy but I'm just not there. This is my first new F150 and I have seen how bad interior plastics have been in their older models. As far as initial truck quality, nothing beat my 2002 Tundra which had its first major issue when they replaced the frame, suspension hardware, fuel, brake lines at 100K free of charge. Now that is a company that stood behind their product and I essentially had a new undercarriage at 100K.
Technology has come a long way since then and I really enjoy the new F150's cameras/tech. The truck drives exceptionally well and doesn't feel as big as it is until I need to park it in my garage. Now if they can stop my battery from dying that would give me higher confidence that I can take this vehicle on long trips. I actually bought this truck to do a road trip to florida to see my son in rehab but backed out of that plan until I can gain confidence with the vehicle. That has been my biggest disappointment.
That hit me right in the feels. I hope you get to see your son soon

Which wheels and tires do you have there? Those look sharp.

If I could return this rusty POS for a full refund I would today. I’ve owned 12 Fords over the decades and I have never seen this much rust on a brand new vehicle.

I’m an optimistic Kinda guy. Awaiting delivery as it left factory yesterday. Y’all have me worried about 10,000,000 different issues now lol. Can I get some “this is the best truck I’ve ever driven” and “no regrets at all!” comments lol. Figure we cheer things up!
My wife and I bought ours out of state and had it delivered.
That was our first time ever, and with that said leave potentially more room for remorse.
But this truck is Friggen awesome and full of so much tech that I feel spoiled.
I don’t know how long we’re sticking with the Goodyear wrangler territory AT cause I’ll go load E before we start towing, but, the traction is great in the snow and winter so far.
lots of power, smooth 10 speed, and super comfy on Alaska roads.
‘Merica.

Did you look over your vehicle before you bought it? Sure surface rust under your brand new vehicle would suck but not sure its something worth returning a vehicle over.

Did you ask the dealer if they would do anything about it?

Check out this video about the surface rust.

No regrets here! I love it! If you want to putt around and get good gas mileage, you can. If you want to switch it to sport mode and cut up, you can. You can tow a whole lot with it. You can get it muddy. You can power your house. It practically drives itself (especially if you fill a surgical glove with sand and attach it to the steering wheel). The possibilities are endless. It is awesome!!! Get one yesterday!
