The Transmission pumps on the 10r80 are especially noted for having whine noise due to strait tooth pump gears. Interestingly enough my truck hardly makes any noise, but the rental f150 I had did. I can't really tell if it's that with yours the video seems to have a good bit of background distortion.

I get an RPM-dependent high-pitched whine as well. Sounds electronic to me (fuel pump?). I get it at idle, as well, so not sure if the trans pumps are responsible in my case. I haven't been able to localize the sound and just sort of forget about it when ghe radio is on.

I will try to get a better quality video tomorrow and post it here.

Does anyone else have this issue? I bought this 2022 with 36000 miles on it and didn’t notice this noise until I got it home. Dealership claims that it is normal?

This is the noise. It’s pretty loud.

That sounds like a bearing in the pulley system mabe fans if they are running. to me its coming more from the grill area. My truck doesn't make that noise

Agree with this assessment. Maybe belt tensioner or Alt pulley bearing?

Mine doesn't sound like that either, much more high pitched "electronic" sound vs mechanical (like that).

The ford dealership changed the alternator and said they checked all the pulleys. I’m going to take it to a different dealership and have them check it out for a second opinion.

Was it making this noise before the alternator replacement?

My 22 5.0 makes exactly the same sound and has since new. The 5.0 and 10r80 are just loud, I wouldn't worry about it.

I have a 22 5.0 and it makes that same noise. I've had the truck for 6 months, and it seems like the noise wasn't as loud when I first got it. Maybe I wasn't as aware of it. I've also been searching forums because I have a very piss poor dealership here and dread taking it to them. Did you ever find out if its normal?
