I was interested in that tool kit till I saw it was more than $350!

True- but Ford’s offering 20% off and Rakuten is running another 25% off of Ford parts for new members (it’s a cash back thing after purchase)- so I got it for a little over $200- still too high, but it’s a nice set.

I have put about 1200 miles on my truck in 3 months. Sadly I dont get out much but I spend a lot of time in hotels, airplanes, and at home. My packout is paid services for everything I need these days. If I need something its going to be provided by my insurance, travel insurance, my company, or my family. People are my greatest asset. I used to be a boy scout with everything in the truck. Today is relying on a very close circle of people. I like to think of it like the Marvel Avengers. LOL

I have a small (~60 pieces) Craftsman tool set (sockets, ratchets, wrenches, screwdrivers) that's been in every one of my vehicles since 2003, (bought it at the old sears in Post Oak Mall: Gig Em!).

Tape measure, utility knife, washcloth sized towels in the rear driver door pocket. A few padlocks across different tool bags of straps and rope.

In addition to some of the other items already listed by others, I have an under seat bag that fits under the 1/3 section on rear passenger side (bought on Amazon) where I keep a rain jacket, a light jacket, some spare socks, a t-shirt, some mechanic type gloves from harbor freight.

I have pretty much the same, with the addition of pliers and adjustable wrench and some jumper cables. It amazing how scarce the cables can be.

Kinda curious what everyone keeps in their truck?

I just have a basic kit (hammer, sockets, screw drivers, etc), and tie ratchet straps. Feel like I should have more stuff and be better prepared…

A penny for your thoughts?
I tow a 21-ft trailer behind my truck with every tool I own just in case.

I have two Undercover Swingcases on my truck. One side is a comprehensive toolkit (pretty much everything), a roll of gorilla tape, lots of spare parts for mountain bikes (brake pads, chains, cables, sealant), plus tire plugs and sealant for the truck. The other side has tie downs, cargo net, tow rope, ratchets, and a few electrical adapters and cords for my Powerboost outlets. Inside the truck I carry a Noco Boost jump start charger, a fairly well equipped first aid kit (even surgical glue), a Dewalt tire inflator, and window cleaner/paper towel.

On long trips I'll mount two 5 gallon/20L jerry cans of fuel in the back also, plus a bin with oil, antifreeze, tire socks, and windshield washer fluid.
I can’t help but wonder what someone that carries spare fuel thinks about all electric trucks? ??

Ha! Not a fan. Though the RAM PHEV looks interesting at 700-800 miles range.

I mostly keep extra fuel for running the truck as a generator.

I get a new truck every three years and have no reason to carry any tools. All my years driving never had a break down on the road and have no reason to carry any tools. I do have a Yankum 1" rope to help people stuck in the snow or mud.

I think @RickBullotta is the only one who listed tire plugs in their list, although many listed a tire inflation device and may have just not mentioned the plugs. But, having the tire plugs saved my bacon shortly after I bought my truck and I got 2 flats in the middle of nowhere with nobody around for miles. I had never had to use plugs before and contemplated not putting them in the new truck. But I'm sure glad I did or I would have been in big trouble.

I have jumper cables, Leatherman multitool, and my AAA card with a Premium Membership.
Getting too old for roadside repairs. ;)

When the PCM died in my 2019, no tool kit would have gotten me home.
AAA towed it 189 miles back to my dealership in Phoenix to have it repaired. The two dealerships closer to where I was at both said it would take at least 4-6 weeks to get the part.
My dealership in Phoenix had me up and running in 3 days.

With the terrible Ford battery management software I now need to carry a jump start battery pack and battery jump cables in the truck. I have zero confidence that I will have sufficient charge in the battery to start the truck.

The Ford BMS problems result in the deep discharge of the AGM battery which greatly shortens it life. May need to switch to a deep cycle battery that is better able to handle the deep discharges that result with these trucks.

You know, I realize I didn't really answer your question.
I just had a sarcastic funny comment but what I always have in my truck is:
- NOCO-GB40 (jumpbox)
- Breaking bar and 21mm (maybe 22, can't recall) socket for wheels
- multiple sets of straps
- roll of paper towels
- 2 bottles of water
- can of window cleaner

Luckily have not needed to haul a lot of tools everywhere due to the quality of the truck.
When I was a kid, I had an entire tool chest in the back of my 79 Honda... Piece of crap...

I vary on an almost daily level from impact drivers, nail guns, saws etc (I'm a custom builder) but one item I NEVER go without (although I wouldn't strictly call it a tool) is my big heavy rubber bed mat....

Had some Muriatic acid fall over in the bed yesterday and the cap had a leak so acid went everywhere... luckily it was a short trip so when I arrived at site and opened the tailgate to see the acid smoking and bubbling on my mat (haven't had time to get the spray-in done) I was very thankful I'd reused my mat... only loss was one of my tool bags...
