Handheld OBD II scanner 2024 Powerboost
I’m looking for suggestions for a handheld OBDII scanner. My old one isn’t compatible with some of the new features required servicing and such.

I do already have a OBDLinkMX+, need a hand held unit with more capability for servicing.

Suggestions?

Cheapest route is forscan and an x86 tablet / laptop that can run it. Need to get near $1k for an OBD universal before you can even begin to scratch the surface of forscan's capabilities. You'd end up paying for a whole lot for capability you don't need, while missing other features you'd want JIC.

sounds like that’s the direction I need to go then. I appreciate it.

If you already have the MX+, get FORScan Lite for iOS or Android from the app store. I use the iOS version with the same MX+. It can’t reconfigure modules, but it can perform almost all of the service functions of FORScan for Windows. And it doesn’t get much more convenient than having a scanner on a phone or tablet.
