I've never heard of this before. How does it compare to the JB4 that integrated into the turbos and OBD connection... and tons of tuning features (for the same price).
We tap into a few sensors on engine with a specific wiring harness and then our tuning chip connects onto that harness. It does not connect right into the OBD2 port. Ours is a little more user friendly compared to the JB4. We have an app you'll use to change maps on the fly.

If you add any mods to your truck you let us know and we'll have the tuning guy revise your maps and then they get flashed on the backend to your chip that you update with the app. It's a really user friendly tuner and all the legwork for fine tuning is done for free by us.

So yes, the JB4 give the user a little more customization however if you don't know what your doing as in trying to fine tune maps I would highly not recommend playing around with that as you can easily damage something.

I like the ease and simplicity of the product. Does it also make adjustments to the transmission so it doesn't "hunt"?

The one aspect I like about the JB4 is the fact that anyone can provide tuning information and you can enter that into your custom MAP at anytime. There's trained tune-designers out there, that can look at a simple data log from the truck and push the performance a little further than the "safe" JB4 canned tunes (as they are admittedly a little conservative...to keep everything safe while providing impressive gains). Every vehicle is a little different, and some have more room to flex.

With the Stillen product, I'm guessing that you're stuck with canned tunes or the uploaded tunes if/when an aftermarket part is added...but there's probably no fine-tune offering.

I simply like the fact that the OBD isn't tied up.

The transmission may adapt slightly over time based on the extra load. This is especially true in cars with adaptive shift logic, but it’s not the same as a true TCU tune.

We actually offer free revisions on our tuners. All you need to do is provide your order number and the mods you added to your truck. We pass that information on to our tuner and they will adjust your files for you and then send them straight to your chip on the backend. All you'll need to do is update your chip through the app and the new files are ready to roll. It's a really easy process!
