I have a '25 Powerboost on the way, and I'd like to get a little more from it. From other vehicle platforms, I'm familiar with the JB4 units, which are available for the Powerboost...BUT, is that the best option? What is everyone doing for this need?

JB4 is your only option as of now on anything 24 and newer.

I am running one myself, had on a previous car as well, and love it. Just as easy an install as ever and makes a very noticeable difference in performance. Now I just need to figure out how to drop my 60' from a 2.09. These damn 22's with 305/45 are heavy as shit though so probably not doing too much better.

Well...that makes everything pretty easy then. JB4 it is!!!

I use these on BMW's, so I'm super familiar with them, as well as the E-tuning...so that part is good for me too. I just thought maybe there was some "Ford" preferred option. I'm kind of glad the JB4 is it.

And...the install looks super easy. On the BMW, it's awful, and usually takes 2-3 hours due to 1 connector being buried so deep that you can barely touch it, let alone disconnect it. Anyhow...the F150 install looks like a breeze.

Thanks for the education.

I'm running the JB4 on my 2023. The 2023's require an ECU swap to tune with Livernois or 5star if you have any ecoboost engine. I think the 2023 5.0 is still able to be tuned.
I'm planning on just using the same JB4 on my 2025 truck when I get it. They're super easy to install on the F-150s. No tight spaces or weird clips. I had the same issue putting one on a VW a few years ago. They hide some of those sensors way down in the engine bay and it destroys your hands trying to reach them.
Definitely a noticeable boost difference once you're above that 3000 RPM range.

Good question. JB4 needs E30 to get those numbers... so how is this system doing it (with assumedly 93)?
Thanks, people needs understand how much you can make while using 93. I'm using both JB4 and Livernois

My only complaint with the JB4 is that it doesn't play nicely, and isn't supported, sharing the OBD port with a second device. (OBDLink adapter for monitoring PIDs)

Not everyone would share my priorities, but I am not willing to fly blind with the Powerboost. There's just too many things that I must monitor to feel good about what's going on in that magnificent machine stuffed under the hood and frame.

It's true that installing/uninstalling the JB4 is a piece of cake on the truck. The only meaningful labor is passing the OBD harness through the firewall grommet.

I thought Livernois couldn't be used on the new F-150 without unlocked ECU?
Until this thread, I thought JB4 was the only option... now there's Trucontrol tuner (which I'm interested in).
I also don't like that JB4 locks the OBD to being used by anything else.
I just don't get how a device like Trucontroler can do better than the JB4 that has more data and control over the sensors overall.
I'm wanting to be educated about it.

Sorry, I have a 21 PB. I have a OBD splitter, running JB4 and OBDLink MX+ to monitor PIDs.

I experienced massive PID lag when doing the same. When I mentioned it to the JB4 boss, he warned me that the lag is also affecting the JB4 and that they do not support OBD splitting/sharing. And literally recommended against it.

I was disappointed, but took it as fair warning.

Yes, we had this conversation in the past. I rarely run both apps at the same time, unless I'm changing between maps. I can deal with it while JB4 is plugged in OBD port.
