Hit 5K miles yesterday coming home from work, so it was oil change time today. Put some M1 full synthetic and M1 oil filter in. Found about 1" of stuff in the catch can with over 2500 miles of driving. Rotated the tires and finally I was able to install my black lugs.

Then it was time for a bath and go-go juice as we leave on vacation in the morning. About to put another ~2500-3000 miles in 10 days.

Let us know how the new muffler sounds after you get some miles on it.

Got it installed yesterday, paid a shop $100 to cut out the ProXS and swap that muffler in.

Immediately I noticed the new muffler was significantly quieter on start up, still has a nice little rumble when driving around. Around town it's about 60% as loud as the ProXS, which I like. The ProXS gave my truck a nice V8 rumble, but the highway noise was too much. The HD muffler on it now is slightly less "V8 rumble", more subdued V8 sounds. The stock muffler was 100% silent unless you absolutely hammered on it; couldn't hear it until you hit 4k.

Downside to the new muffler, while accelerating to highway speeds it's kind of an annoying "drone" like sound until you get up to highway speeds, then you generally can't hear it over a podcast/stereo. That must be due to the fact it's a straight through muffler with baffling around the sides.

I think I'll be keeping this for a while. If I still find the highway noise annoying after a couple weeks I'll have to decide between going back to stock, or spending the big bucks for a complete catback for a "better" sound.


Sound is completely subjective, but I suspect this muffler would be a good choice for those looking for a *little* extra sound, without annoying the neighbors or family. I have 2 small kids (3rd on the way), so I want something that is going to let them sleep on trips and not wake them up anytime I hit the gas.

Installed my aluminum topper that finally arrived from its float across the ocean lol. Will probably get some heat for getting a “knock off”. But for a little over $1k delivered I’m not complaining!

Trying out the tack form phone mount. I’m gonna need to get an arm to add to it as I don’t like it blocking any airflow. I’m also gonna work on finding a way to hide as much of the cable as possible for a clean look.

Been running the Truxedo XPro tonneau cover and while happy with it I've been missing the benefits of having full cap so with winter coming finally pulled the trigger:

I've had varying brands on my trucks over the years and by far this is the best one yet. The latest version addressed the previous issues (freezing locks and being able to open from the inside). Plus since it isn't color matched it will be much easier to sell down the road when I upgrade the truck. Highly recommend the RSI Smartcap.

I think you're right. I really wish someone would design one for the f150 similar to the Factory Aftermarket one for F250s.
