I have carbon fiber lettering on my Carbonized Grey but I have the BAP. I still say black would look best even even with your chrome bumpers

Also get the raised versions they look a little nicer IMO. I had the BAP so I had the black flat inlay already but they got lost in the Atlas Blue (a darker blue). The outline makes them pop a little without overwhelming the tailgate. Stainless steel would like nice too but all the stainless I found were "polished to a mirror finish" so basically chrome.

I stuck mine right on top of the BAP flat inlays and they are rock solid.

If you want something subtle, cant go wrong with black, even black with white trim like Kodiak has. Another thing to consider is raised letters or just flat decal letters.

I did mine body color ptm. Looks like a 2000s raised tailgate off the Silverado's with the very rare Pro-Tech Composite bed. I love how subtle it is.

Maybe I'm just a miserable F*, but I think the F150 stamp in the gate is something I would delete entirely if possible. With every 2nd car driving by being an F150....dont think a tailgate needs to tell everyone what is known.

I went with raised matte black and would do the same if mine was silver , They are rigid and much easier to apply than a sticker.

I hate that stamped F-150 tailgate on all the trucks also and think it looks cheap.

The popular path seems to be remove the bedside decals for a subtle, clean look and then tack on tape to the large tailgate letters. Go figure.

I concede that some of the tailgate letters do look nice. Me, I prefer the original as built look. To each their own.
