Was the amplifier yanked in 2025!?

I have a ~month old 2025 platinum powerboost with the 702A equipment group. I just installed a pull cord to be able to lower the driver's side rear seat more easily and what did I find? Lots of space is what I found. I was expecting to see a subwoofer and an amplifier. All I see is a rather smallish and oddly shaped subwoofer(s?) and no amplifier.

The sticker that came with the truck says I have the B&O Unleashed Sound Sys 14SPK.

I'm wondering if I just didn't get what I thought I was getting and perhaps made a mistake and didn't purchase some sort of upgrade, or that's one of the ways Ford cheaped out in 2025 or even worse, I didn't get an amplifier when I should have.

I added a picture someone else took showing an amp on the builds they were doing 4 years ago as well. Mine obviously doesn't have that. Not the end of the world, I would probably upgrade anyway but this seems pretty lame.

Testing... Well, that worked I guess. Not really a great view, perhaps I need to redo starting from the resolution on my phone, but just to the left of that speaker is typically an amplifier, no?

This is a heavily trimmed image I found on the interwebs. Has a shiny amp next to the subwoofer. I assumed mine would too but no. I don't see an amp stashed anywhere else nearby either.

Yeah! I heard about that! But the amp, jeez. After the post I finally set up android auto with my new phone (phone broke the very day I bought the truck and I had a long drive home from out of state) so I could test the bass.

It sucks.

I had my ear right up against the sub and it seemed like more bass was coming from up front of the cab.


But it did make some noise. A little bit playing Nine Inch Nails, "Down In It", for the test.

Skimming some other threads it sounds like replacing the (lame or not existent) amp and sub isn't trivial. Requires a new DSL or something? (Away from computer where I read this)

I have a 2025 Platinum (703A, July build) and mine has the same setup with no silver amp visible. It must have an amp somewhere, because it really thumps.

The amp on 2024+ was moved to the passenger side. Flip down the other seat back and you’ll see it mounted behind the fiberboard panel through a vent hole above the Jack location.

They removed the headrest speakers.

Thanks, I was curious where it was. I went to look and it's not easy to see in there.

How did you even get that back seat to lower? Watched many videos and tried, but it seems like it's different now than in the past on the 25 plat? Can't say I really miss the 4 headrest speakers (2 in each front seat).

Side Note: I've found I get much better sound from using these settings. You actually hear the rear speakers, and the bass is much better.

Raise the driver's side back seat to give yourself more room to reach behind the seat. I used a box end wrench to pull the pin up to release the latch on back of the seat. I also bought one of the rear seat release kits from Amazon (attached) so I could get behind the seat easier when needed. There is a little room to store stuff there.

Well, I stand corrected. Looks to be the same latch as the 23. Simply pull up on the tab sticking out in the circle. Attached photos of the latches and the amp, too. Thanks again!

Confirmed! Thanks so much!! I see it now. Took me a few days, I've been slammed at work. Working right now in fact near midnight dang it.

I would probably prefer that based on my experience with a pal's Fiero in the 1980s.
