I am kind of tired of having 5-30MB of data uploaded to Ford after each drive, yet the data flowing from Ford to me is 20-100KB...
Just curious, how does one know the amount of data going either direction or in total? Where do you find that info?

I use Eero, a mesh network system, that shows data amounts for every client that accesses my network. Here is an example of what I see for my truck....

OK, so no convenient source of this info from any screen in the truck if I were just curious, correct?

Good grief, I've got better things to do with my time and energy, I don't care that yet another entity knows my location, I appreciate the various benefits and conveniences accrued by sharing that info with those entities.

YMMV, no worries!

No, Ford seems to make nothing convenient. There is no source within the truck's systems that I am aware of that gives data amounts up/downloaded.

As far as the data sharing and what you do or do not enable, it's all good. I am not seeing much of anything I currently use that I will lose by turning the stuff off. That is why my original question was focused on BC functionality as I do use that. The other stuff I could not give half a crap about.

I am surprised it seems shocking to some that people might not want to share their data. You say it is only Pro Power usage they are interested in.... Well, they are getting 5-50MB of data after every drive I make, and have only used ProPower once to try it out over 2 years ago. So obviously they are getting other data.... Saying Ford is clueless on any of this data makes it even worse, as then I wonder if they are really doing the things necessary to make the data anonymous, and then are they applying the proper data security safeguards to this stored data to insure nefarious actors don't come and steal said data and put me at some unknown risk.
You might need to wrap your dash in TIN Foil, along with your hat my guy.

Here's 80 days worth of usage from my 2 sync vehicles. 1 uses cellular entirely having not even used 1KB of data. Downloaded more than it's uploaded, likely map data.

It's likely giving ADAS feedback. That information is used to provide engineering data on the system itself. My truck w/ out BC, but with self lane centering doesn't feed ford info. The bluecruise on the mach-e is the likely culprit sending BC diag data back to ford. Whenever the system encounters issues, it logs it and reports it. I want the system to perform better and providing that data is contributing. I'd expect the more mileage logged, the more data it sends home.

Getting the sync update, a file 6GB in size, comes over cellular. I've found no rhyme or reason as to how/why the system decides to use wifi. The vehicles do call home at least daily through the cell modem. We have no way to sniff that traffic.

Mine pings Ford over my wifi every night at about 10:20pm, sometimes 10:21pm.... It is never much data, 20KB-50KB max.... Not sure about the cell ping, as you said I don't have visibility to that.

Ford F-150 Vehicle Location Setting - On/Off....? Screenshot_20240515-165933

Last 30 days.

I posted thread about this at start of year when it was uploading ridiculous amount of data in a single week then I had an OTA at end of week. Coincidence apparently since it will do that often with no OTA triggers.

I know this has to be a drain on the battery. My upload is not symmetrical so it takes a while for it to upload 2 GB as it did last night. If WiFi is off does it still upload so much? Often cellular is same thing not symmetrical in my experience and slower. Does the truck stay awake for hours trying to upload in evening without WiFi? ?

Done right it should only use about 7 watts. When I had a sensitive BMS in the truck overnight once I saw a parasitic draw of .5 amps for several hours. It doesn't need everything awake, just the TCU that's always awake and whatever module is storing the data.
