I'm looking to get some Method BeadGrip wheels. I can only fit a 17" rim with a 0 offset on my truck since I've got the Max Tow Package (I called Method and they confirmed it they will fit). I'm primarily looking for a better solution for overlanding/offroading. I've got Bilstein 6112 coilovers up front with a 2.25" lift and I'd like to put larger tires on the truck to get a bit more clearance.

I'm thinking the 18" wheels with the positive offset would allow me to go with bigger tires without rubbing. And with less poke they might not impact MPG as badly.

But 17" rims are generally considered better for offroading. Plus they look cooler ?...Method only makes bronze BeadGrips for the F150 in 17".

Here's my current setup, in case you're wondering:

For off roading and not towing, if you want to go with greater than 34" tires go with 18" wheels.
If you are going with tires less than 34" go with 17" wheels.

With your level and positive offset, I would go with the 18s.

18” would be my choice. A bit more road stability, not going to lose much off road ability.

I went with 17’s. Prefer more sidewall off-road

I have 17” and I like them, but they are really tight against the steering knuckle. I had a tire shop but balancing weights two rows high and the weights hit the knuckle. I would go with 18” for the extra clearance.

Interesting, I hadn't heard about 17s and the steering knuckle.

Method told me, if I got the 17s, I would need to make sure the shop did a dynamic balance and put the weights towards the inside of the barrel. And even though they sell a +25, I could only fit a 0 offset to clear the MaxTow brake caliper.

I definitely like the look of your 17s. And it does look like you've got a lot of sidewall.

How come you didn't get a larger tire? 285/70/17 are slightly smaller than stock even.

It was a great deal on the wheel/tire combo. I may look at something bigger when it's time to replace the rubber.

I test fit the same wheels in +25 and 0 on my max tow. The +25 were a hard no go and the 0 had so little clearance that I felt it was inevitable I'd get rocks in there while wheeling through mud and gravel it gouge things up, especially with internal stick on weights.

Ended up going with KMC 18s in +18 with 34" AT4Ws and don't regret it at all. Plenty of sidewall left, nice balance of poke and zero rub throughout full range of travel without even trimming the front valance.

That's a good point. Rocks will inevitably get stuck in there and mess something up.

I went with 18" 316 Standards with Falken 34" on the 2" Ready Lift. About a 1" poke from +18. Hope this helps with the look you want. I preferred 18" in case I ever wanted bigger brakes and to be sure I cleared MaxTow. 17s do look great with 35s on Raptors :)
Note, 35" is one-half inch more to the pumpin than 34".
PS 34" Spare Fits if you are interested in five-wheel rotation.

My 2022 truck has the max tow package and came from the factory with Hankook DynaPro AT2 265/60R20 tires.

Something to check is the tires that are available for the size rims as it can vary greatly in terms of tread and payload options.
