I'm wheel shopping and I'm curious of the pro's and con's to 17's, 18's and 20's if you will be hitting trails. I want to run 35's in my setup as well. Not sure if that matters.

17's if off roading trails etc Mojave, DV, Holcomb, Corona, 395 Sierras . 34 or 35 will work.
Need sidewall, particularly if aired down to 15-20 psi
general rule is half:

Quote:
For optimal off-road performance, the wheel diameter should generally be no larger than half the tire's diameter. This means that if you're running a 35-inch tire, the wheel diameter should be 17 inches or less.

Also tire availability is better for 17;'s 18's seem to be picking up though.
Get E rated too. Maybe D, C if you like using sidewall patches on the trail. LOL
20's are great for mall crawlin, in da hood or tik tok.
Iv'e bent 3 OEM 20's so far, good for running 6" lift, cut bars etc and running 37's, ie Rubicon, but will wear everything else out fast.
FYI: small sledge will bend rims back pretty nice on trail, torch optional.
Also our trucks are hub centric so 87.1 mm center bore or life will suck moose dick. IMHO LOL

Nice! I'm definitely hitting Corona frequently while I get used to going on trails since I live here. Looks like I'll be ordering some 17's soon.

I appreciate all the info, especially with tires.

Yep. All good. I'm ordering Toyo R/T Trails today. Loved my Ridge Grapplers. Loved my BFG KO2's, KO3's specs look good if available and RBL. Let us know what you go with.

Is there any clearance issues with a 17x9 -12 offset? I've seen there can be fitment issues with the control arm.

Check out JBA upper control arms, might resolve any fitment issues, pay attention to backspace and offset on the wheel choices...

I'd do the research, no easy answer(s), ie ask the wheel manufacturer directly and Stage 3 motorsports and American truck and Discount tire and Off Road warehouse.
I'm putting on 17x8.5 +6 offset 87.1mm bore offset icons on mine with 2" level and pre trimmed. everything Then 35x12.5R17. Should fit...LOL
11.5's clear my stock UCA by less than an inch. but no way 12.5 with stock +44 would clear. -12 offset might hit other things....
Yes its a pain in the ass.

Haha yeah it's different from what I am used to. My fitment issues came from the fender side usually, trying to fit as much as I could for traction.

Guess I will measure it out. Thankfully the Tremor already comes lifted and I am doing a level kit next week. Hopefully that helps.

That offset will clear the UCA’s easily. However you’ll have more potential for rubbing at the bumper and frame/crash bar.
