So I ended up having to go back in after I did the updates and turned on the unreal theme. To get the climate bar at the bottom make sure you have 7D0-02-02 set to the right value for your truck. I did both the unreal and climate at the same time and didn’t bother to check when the climate bar wasn’t at the bottom. I had to go back in and change that to get it on the bottom and get the different Home Screen like you are looking for.
Gotcha. My current values (changed) is showing: 7D0-02-02: 1202 00D8 00C7

This didn’t work the way I intended it to be haha, I reverted the values for this back to stock until 3.5.3.

After talking to @Jesse-Infotainment and @Livnitup, the bottom line would be to wait for 3.5.3 to roll out on this and it’ll work as its supposed to.

I just got my 21 PB back from the dealer today to get the generator reset fixed. Ford engineers wanted the dealer to update all or a lot of the modules. I now have the CarPlay in full screen mode so I assume that's due to my Sync being upgraded, it was at 22192 and now it's at 22293.

I'm trying to see if I have Power-Up 3.5.3 but when I click on software Update Details all it says now if "your software is up to date." Before I took it into the dealer the Update Details said I had Power-Up 3.5.2. It seems odd it just says "it's up to date" now.

I tried to enable the 75th anniversary Splash Screen and Unreal Sync Theme but I get an error "incorrect checksum of data entered." I am entering 7D0-03-01 xxxx 24xx xx-- and 7D0-02-03 xxxx xxx1 xx--.

Would this be an indication I'm still at 3.5.2? I've attached the error message.

Checksums are calculated for each address block. Changing a bit changes the calc. "Yes" recalcs and writes the address with the correct checksum.

I just don't remember seeing that error message when I enabled Bambi mode.

So it sounds like you are saying it's ok to proceed.

Thanks Jim

@JIMFOUNTAIN

question, it says "Requires Sync ver 22012 or higher - reset APIM in FORScan after either/both changes", does this mean after I write the changes I then need to hit the reset button? not just powre cycle the truck?

yes if you do the apim reset, at least in my case its causes the modules to do a complete reboot and see all the new data. thats a very brief explanation

If you have full screen CarPlay, then you are at least at 3.5.3.

If you can connect TWO Bluetooth phones simultaneously, you are at 3.5.4. You likely won't see any message like that if they updated your truck manually (FDRS), as it didn't get delivered OTA.

You should also have Alexa integrated into your truck. You should see it under Connected Services in FordPass, as well as a new button under SYNC settings.

I tried to enable the 75th anniversary Splash Screen and Unreal Sync Theme but I get an error "incorrect checksum of data entered." I am entering 7D0-03-01 xxxx 24xx xx-- and 7D0-02-03 xxxx xxx1 xx--.
Ignore that, WRITE the values, then cycle the ignition as instructed. You may/will also need to reset the APIM module through FORScan after either and/or both the Unreal them and the 75th Anniversary spash screen edits.

After you WRITE your changes and cycle the ignition, if you need to reset a module, you can do it in FORScan. Note that you'll have to do it after applying changes for the Unreal theme and/or the 75th anniversary splash screen.
  • Once connected, click the 'wrench' icon on the left.
  • Make sure you're on the Service Procedures tab.
  • Select the module (e.g., APIM).
  • Click the blue circle with the arrow (start procedure)
  • IIRC, you have to use the stop (circle /square) procedure icon when done here, too.
This, except choose APIM:

Ford F-150 Unreal Theme/75th Anniversary Splash/Climate Controls reset

I also believe that the button sequence to reset the APIM module from the dash (hold the volume button and FF button simultaneously until the SYNC screen shuts down and the logo reappears, then let them go) accomplishes the same reset as the FORScan reset.

I’ve been stuck on 3.5.2 since October 17th. I’m assuming Ford stopped pushing OTA updates? Just curious if anyone else has been stuck on this version.

Yup, tons of people, including myself. That's what finally prompted me to bite the bullet, purchase what was needed, and do it myself.

A few people have reported that they've received 3.5.3 OTA recently, but that and 50 cents still doesn't by you a cup of coffee.

yeah that makes sense. I do have Alexa, I saw it was active in Ford Pass and I logged into it today.

I'll cycle the power and do the reset.

thank you

thanks again, I don't make changes with FORScan very often and when I do I watch the YouTube tutorials just to refresh. I did back up all the modules last year :)
